Billionaire Bill Gates has bought a whopping 1.7 million shares of Anheuser-Busch, the anti-American umbrella company of Bud Light.
Gates bought the Anheuser-Busch shares through his Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation Trust.
Gates’ shares have a market value of $95 million, according to TipRanks.
The Microsoft founder’s investments come as Anheuser-Busch is still dealing with the fallout from its disastrous partnership with transgender TikTok influencer Dylan Mulvaney.
Is this another reason never to drink Bud Light Again?
While Anheuser-Busch may be enjoying the influx of cash, the Bill Gates name being added to Bud Light, a brand that wants humans to consume its products, can’t be good.
As The Daily Mail noted, Gates invested $939.87 million in Heineken stock at the onset of the Bud Light controversy.
He acquired 10.8 million shares on February 17, according to the Netherlands Authority for Financial Markets filing.
And earlier than that, in 2007, Gates made a $392 million purchase of a stake in FEMSA – whose brewery was sold to Heineken in 2010.
In August, Anheuser-Busch laid off hundreds of US workers as it reported a $395 Million in its second quarter.
Anheuser-Busch has suffered declining sales since its ‘woke’ marketing disaster, and things will not recover.
Earlier this year, the two pro-trans marketing executives responsible for destroying the Bud Light brand were fired by Anheuser Busch.
“To my understanding, if we publicly announced the word ‘fire,’ it opens up the potential for them to sue us. That’s why we said leave of absence,” said the source in a text message to the Daily Caller.
“The wholesalers would have had an absolute HAY DAY with leadership if they didn’t remove her.” (Or maybe a field day?)
“To be fair- Daniel Blake was actually awesome. I think he was just caught in the crossfire. But also he did hire her… so thats a fault,” the source continued.
“Wholesalers were told they are both gone for good by leadership during in-person conversations. They already shifted all their direct reports to new people and the head of marketing,” they sai
That’s why people shouldn’t buy ANY of their brands!!!
“While Anheuser-Busch may be enjoying the influx of cash . . .”
Is that the way it works?
If Gates is buying shares on the open market, how will that capitalize AB?
Isn’t the money Gates spends buying shares going to existing, if anonymous, owners of the shares, not AB?
Higher share price would make company-held shares worth more I guess. If and when the company sells their shares they would benefit from the sale.
That will only kill the Hondurans...............
My next door neighbors are Honduran, and they drink Bud Light, but only because of the price.
They do not watch American news or TV so they have no idea..........
Good luck with that. I'm not disagreeing with you, but it likely won't happen. I'm seeing lots of AB product in carts at the stores. They might be avoiding Bud Light, but regular Bud and other products are moving once again (football season here in Texas).
Makes sense. Since the beginning, I’ve consistently said that the boycott isn’t going to hurt the overall company. The stock price on April 1st, when this whole thing began, was $66 and trending upwards. As of today, the stock is sitting at just under $56/share. The 52 week low is $44.51, 52 week high is $67.09. As we move further away from the woke marketing incident, the stock will rise again. Even if (and probably more likely so) they get rid of or rebrand the Bud Light line. Seems to me now is a great time to buy the stock, but that’s just my personal opinion. I’m NOT an investment advisor.
Buy low, sell high....................
Exactly! And AB Inbev stock will certainly go higher. We've had a longer memory for this mistake by Bud Light, but soon we'll forget and either go back to Bud Light or start drinking whatever the company rebrands it as. The boycott did nothing to actually hurt the company over all.
Alcohol sales sustain historically well in recessionary times. Maybe Gates is reading the bidet tea leaves.
Will BUD LIGHT be mRNA beer to go with mRNA burgers and brats?
Saw a Bud Light truck yesterday on 495 in nyc. First one I’ve seen since this all started. Felt sorry for the driver.
Beer drinkers will go back to Bud Lite after they experience a 31.81% increase in weight after drinking Modelo Especial (145 calories for a 12 oz can).
There are other ‘lite’ beers for them to swill.................
Modelo Especial took over’s Bud Light’s top spot in the U.S. beer market in May and has held onto the title ever since. Drinkers are not going for the low calorie alternatives.
I mean... why would you need another reason to not drink Bud Light besides the fact that it’s awful?
Beer drinkers that were drinking Bud Light to reduce or maintain weight are just like those 300lb women that drink Diet Coke.
Hint: Most former Bud Light drinkers aren’t going to notice or care.
Those beer drinkers that guzzled Bud Light drank a beer I would rate on par with cat piss. No way would they ever worry about the calorie content. However, if their weight gain reflected the increased calories of Modelo, there would be consequence if their minds perceived the harm of their massive rolls of beer belly fat.
The lager, Michelob Ultra Pure Gold with 85 calories at 3.8% ABV is where I would go.
