R&B singer Akon is hyping his centrally planned community in Senegal, the country of his childhood, promising that every African American who invests with him will become a millionaire. In addition, he says if they collectively leave the U.S. for Africa, they could do real damage to the country that has oppressed them so much.
The 50-year-old artist, whose real name is Aliaune Damala Badara Thiam, was born in St. Louis, Missouri, and spent much of his childhood in Senegal. Consequently, he is a big believer in Africa.
“If you’re coming from America or Europe or elsewhere in the diaspora and you feel that you want to visit Africa, we want Senegal to be your first stop,” Akon said in 2020 of the reported $6 billion project.

Well, someone still has to build the water and sewer lines, the infrastructure, HVAC, and grow food. Also build the housing. That’s what kills me when blacks say they want their own countries. That’s fine, knock yourself out, but don’t ask Whitey to build the stuff you need to survive.

Why does Akon want the US to collapse? Also, his is an erroneous view of capitalism. There is not a fixed-sized pie in which you take away a piece from one and give to another. With capitalism, the pie grows so that there are more pieces for everyone.

I worked in Africa on the oil field drilling rigs. One of the American workers on the rig commented, a comment I will not repeat. In effect he said he was glad he was a decedent of slavery. Otherwise he would be living in their hell hole.
