NATIONAL RED WINE DAY
On August 28th, National Red Wine Day ushers in the flavors of fall. As the grapes ripen and signal a time for warmer sips, wine drinkers know reds mean tailgating and spicy foods.
#NationalRedWineDay
Throughout the year, wine days afford us the opportunity to taste and learn about the differences between wines. Earlier this month National Prosecco Day gave us the last bubbly rays of summer. Now we savor the best of the season with Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Pinot noir, Port, and Syrah.
When is National Wine Day?
Red wine varietals produce deep ruby reds as well as subtle ambers and browns. Their beautiful colors hint at the coming change in the season. With that, we can look for delicious menu changes, too. Besides, what better way to enjoy a great bottle of wine than by pairing it with excellent company and food. Restaurants around the country will be happy to oblige throughout the celebration. Be sure to check out the latest menus from appetizers to desserts.
Don’t fear the red, either. Even if you prefer a sweeter wine, there’s a red for you. Also, blends offer a way to enjoy the best of both wine worlds. And don’t fret. Red, red wine pairs well with salad, steak, dessert and so much more.
If you’re hesitant, attend a wine tasting. There you will learn more each time and find the wine that fits not only your palate but your cooking style, too.
HOW TO OBSERVE NATIONAL RED WINE DAY

Now your talking 👍
Love me some good red wines!!! My tastes have changed from drinking Cabs most of the time to Merlot, Zins, blends and tempranillos!
—Some of my favorites:
Paraduxx
Jarvis Cab Franc
Stags’ leap Petite Syrah
Seghesio Zins
Northstar
Leonetti
Cune’
Oh yeah and how could I forget “Heitz cellars” and “O’shaughnessy”!
Slurred, but talking!.......................
I don’t drink much of anything but when I do it’s a nice merlot. However, ones blood pressure rises after wine, so I mostly stay away. The resveratrol in red wine is good for the heart but blood pressure rise isn’t. I buy resveratrol capsules instead of drinking the stuff.
No fun!
Here’s how you do it!

“Slurred, but talking!”
That’s certainly been my experience! 🤣
News you can use. Thanks for posting.
“Red Wine” covers so many different wines that it should be subdivided. Maybe even made into a “Red Wine Week”.
Ruby Port poached pears, Sangria, Beef Bourguignon, the recipes for red wine are voluminous. An ordinary grocery store has so many red wine labels that it’s downright confusing.
You got my mouth watering! There was one old vine Zinfandel I just couldn’t get enough of, I think it was Maggio Old Vine Zinfandel from California.
BUT those days are gone for me.
But you’ll have fun working your way thru the list!..................
So where are the National Red Wine Day DEALS?
WalMart!..................Oak Leaf! You can’t beat the price!....................
