There is a dangerous trend that is occurring in this country. Narcissism, which is a lonely and sick place, seems to be taking over larger and larger portions of our population.
From incessant selfies, to turning every event into a personal tragedy. From demanding that others accept your current pronouns, to confusing and conflating your feelings with facts and reality.
So, you're saying it's not all about ME? That sort of destroys my self inflated image that helps me make it through the day. That means I go back to the booze. I think I know where I went wrong. Growing up I should have used John Wayne for my role model instead of the telebubbies. Sort of a downer.
Anybody know what the Tik Tokers body count is so far this year? How about for kids under 10?

Well said. The normalizing of narcissism is terrible. Girls taking over gyms to film their “journey” and the like.
Last night I saw 4 cops very professionally handling a raging, dunken lunatic. They put on restraints and loaded the lunatic into the paddy wagon. Some idiots were screaming at the cops because I guess any arrest is forbidden now.
Of course...the people yelling at the cops were filming themselves doing so.
Great post! I’m in agreement with you 100%. The libs raise holy hell when abortion survivors are murdered by their fellow students in public schools but when they die competing in a Tik Toker Challenge, it ain’t no big deal.
LOL. John Wayne and my grandfather, who was much like John Wayne, were some of my idols. My grandfather couldn’t say “Democrat” without prefacing it with “gawd damned.”
Every time that I’d bring up John Wayne, my grandfather father would say that Wayne is a phony because he accepts money from the government not to grow potatoes on his farm.

You are fully correct. If you have an interest, two well-known doctors on YouTube (Dr Grande and Dr Ramani) speak to this disorder at length.
I personally know six narcissists very well. Two recently lost husbands and seemed to grieve not at all. Sad, that they are cheated from knowing love.
I love myself far too much to ever allow myself to become a narcissist.
I alway shake my head when someone mentions a movie star (new or old) as a hero or role model. Short of the likes of Jimmy Stewart and those in his vein…people come to admire the “character” that John Wayne or others played. It would be more accurate to refer to the writer or director of the particular film.
The movie stars of the 1940’s and 50’s are really nothing too far removed from today’s social media stars.
Better to keep our heroes personal.
I agree. However, when I was 6, John Wayne was my hero. I also thought that the hockey that I watched on television was played by robots.

Ive seen his videos. His sctick was to pretend that he was very rich in a mocking way.
Did he stream his suicide?

I only discovered Todd Grande a few months ago. I definitely enjoy his analyses. I don’t always agree with his assessments, but do find him thought provoking and entertaining.
