In a now viral video obtained by WFAA, a tenant in a Dallas apartment is seen shooting through his apartment door as two men accused of pretending to be maintenance workers attempt to break in.

The grouping’s a little loose, and he didn’t ventilate the perps, but for overall effectiveness he gets an A.
Wouldn’t want to live across the hall from him… that guy’s got some cleaning up to do.

Excellent job by the tenant: situational awareness, not being gullible, and taking action when needed.
Saw the video yesterday, at the end you see a baby’s playpen in the apartment... this is your 2nd amendment in action. Those two thugs would have kept trying to kick in the door until they broke in.
In this day and age he’ll probably be charged for attempted murder because the guys tried to break in after he lied and said he wasn’t home. smh
His shots went through HIS door and into the door of his neighbor across the hallway.
I think his neighbor was less than pleased.
I fashioned my front door into a DIY claymore mine for just such an occasion.
He didn't hit their door at all. However, I doubt that wall was much of a barrier either.

This incident would not get recorded as a shooting in self defense by FBI statistics because no one was actually shot. Another way they manipulate the gun stats.
Yeah. He put rounds out but it looks like they went through the wall of the apartment across the hall.
Not to Monday morning quarterback, but a better option would be to set up with behind the sofa or other concealment/cover facing the door and just blast them as they came inside/came into view. Preferably with an autoloading shotgun.

Yeah I was thinking the same thing. At the very least when that guy comes home he’s no doubt going to be thinking “WTH?!
The other people in the building will come by and peek thru the holes.
The renter needs to put some tape over them till the owners doing some spackling.
The spackle will do for the inside walls, no doubt the exit holes will be large. The outside looks to be a kind of brick face or mortar.
There goes his security deposit.
