Plant-based meat substitute maker Beyond Meat said its revenue plunged 30.5% in the second quarter as consumer demand for its burgers, sausages and other products fell despite price cuts.

The El Segundo, California-based company lowered its full-year revenue forecast as a result. Beyond Meat now expects revenue between $360 million and $380 million for the year. That’s down from the $375 million to $415 million it forecast at the end of the first quarter.

Beyond Meat’s shares fell 10% in after-hours trading Monday.

In a conference call with investors, Beyond Meat President and CEO Ethan Brown said the company faced tough comparisons to the second quarter of 2022, when a new beef jerky product generated sales and restaurants were reopening and placing big orders. …

Send it to the White House for Biden to eat and serve guests since they think this is such a great alternative to real meat. Maybe to Newsom and anyone suggesting end of real meat on the dinner table.

The health nuts and government tell us for decades not to eat Frankenfood and then they try to make us eat, wait for it… Frankenmeat. Unbelievable.

I bet if they added some cricket and earthworm meal to their recipe sales would soar!

I just bought three big chicken leg/thighs for $5.89. That hardly seems expensive. Certainly not compared to the ribeye steak we had last night (a once every two month treat).

When I don’t want meat, I REALLY don’t want fake meat. There are too many wonderful things that can be done with squash, shrooms, potatoes, beans, and more.

Thank goodness. The whole concept is despicable, very unhealthy, over processed.
What is the point? If you like meat eat it. If you like veggies eat them.
Its almost like transgender, I’m a vegetable but I present as meat. Just as ridiculous and lame, and just as damaging to your wellbeing.

Eating insects is not necessarily a bad idea. Many cultures do eat certain bugs. You can buy roasted spiders and scorpions on a stick in Thailand. Beetle grubs too. I’ve tried both. The scorpion on a stick was really an acquired taste I guess, just awful. The roasted beetle grubs tasted like scrambled eggs.

They also eat higher animals as well. But lab grown meat gives me pause.

El Stinkundo ... better known for its refineries ... which produce something people actually WANT.

Zero chance those clowns in the White House are eating bugs and maggots instead of real meat at the dinner table.

Fluck them

But Brown said the company is also struggling to appeal to new customers because of perceptions that its products are unhealthy and overly processed

now where did customers get that idea?
