This is the shocking moment an off-duty police officer brutally assaults his 72-year-old neighbor after he accidentally hit the officer's paddleboard with his car.
Victim Harry Horsley was assaulted by his neighbor of 36-years Scott Saunders, an 18-year veteran of the Hull Police Department, in Massachusetts, on Monday July 24.
Horsley said he was left bloodied and bruised by the altercation, that another neighbor of theirs managed to capture on video.
In the cell phone video, Horsley is seen on the ground with the police sergeant on top of him pinning him down.
Horsley told Boston 25 News that the assault started when he had been driving him and Saunders hit his car with a paddleboard he was carrying.
The shocking video shows Horsley clearly struggling and trying to throw Saunders off him by kicking his legs.
As Saunders eventually gets off Horsley, the older man is red in the face as he backs away from the police officer.
The 72-year-old told the outlet he got out of his car and asked him: 'Why did you hit my car? That's all I said.'
Horsley said the next thing he knew he was pushed to the ground and punched by Saunders.
He continued: 'He bull-rushed me down to the ground. Landed on top of me, I’m on my back.
'He pounded away, I’m like this trying to protect myself from getting hit worse.
'Here I am, 72 years old. I shouldn’t be taking a punch from anybody, let alone a Police Sergeant.'
Pembroke Police have since charged Saunders with assault and battery following the attack, which resulted in Horsley presenting at a local hospital.

>> this 72 year old will soon have money to move to Florida
LOL!
Alcohol and steroids are a dangerous combination.
What I hear Pensacola is nice this time of year
No.
If he is a native of Massachusetts, he needs to stay and live with what he helped create.
My thoughts exactly.
Indeed.
Spent two years working in Massachusetts (98-99), it is a foreign country.
The explanation of what happened to whom is not clear, because the writer keeps using ‘he’ instead of using the name of who’s being discussed. I have a pretty fair idea what transpired. Maybe it was Roid-Rage.
There is no way that action was appropriate for the officer.
He better be thankful this 72 y/o man is not the type who keeps a loaded pistol in the nightstand, and likes to target practice after dinner, while sipping a little Old Grandad Kentucky Bourbon.
I had no idea it was that bad. When I was in grade school we had a kid move in from Massachusetts. He was an asshole and I thought it was just him. His family went back and honestly, he was not missed.
Typical jack-booted thug cop. Should never have been given a badge let alone a gun.
That’s not fair. It’s just that 80% of the cops give the others a bad rap.
Massholes is the correct word to use. ;-)
At least I think that's what happened. 🤣
“>>to move to Florida
No.”
Place is done full up with Yankees already.
You can’t sling a cat without hitting one.
Depends on where in MA. The western part of the state is reputedly very conservative.
The problem with MA is the same for every state. It's not the state. It's the cities.
It's rural vs urban, not NY, MA, CA, etc vs TX and FL.
What makes a state blue is the cities out vote, or out fraud the rest of the state.
If he voted dem, then indeed, I agree with you, but there's the chance he did not.
So defund the police?
Can’t have it both ways. There’s bad cops but very few.
This idiot looks much older than 36 and an 18 years career as a cop...started at 18? Who knows. He could have had a bad day. We’ve all had them but his response was his downfall.
Touché
That’s what happens when you lose a rebellion.
That’s why we can’t afford to lose the next one.
