The explanation of what happened to whom is not clear, because the writer keeps using ‘he’ instead of using the name of who’s being discussed. I have a pretty fair idea what transpired. Maybe it was Roid-Rage.
There is no way that action was appropriate for the officer.

He better be thankful this 72 y/o man is not the type who keeps a loaded pistol in the nightstand, and likes to target practice after dinner, while sipping a little Old Grandad Kentucky Bourbon.

Yeah. my sentiments exactly. Apparently the 72 year old man was driving, & the 36 year old policeman hit the car of the 72 year old man with his paddleboard. Because this started after the 72 year old man jumped out of his car & asked the 36 year old cop why he hit his car.

At least I think that's what happened. 🤣
