PENSACOLA, Fla. (WEAR) — A Florida woman was arrested after police say she refused to exit a plane at Pensacola International Airport and then ran from officers near the runway.
Dorissa Owens, 35, is charged with trespassing. She is being held in Escambia County Jail on $3,000 bond.
The incident happened Monday around 8:15 p.m. Police responded to Gate 5 at the airport for an unruly passenger.
According to the arrest report, the Envoy Air Supervisor said Owens was being unruly on the plane.
The report states she borrowed an unknown man's cell phone and went to the back of the plane with it. He asked for it back, so she then began asking other people for a cell phone.
According to the report, Owens was asked to leave the plane by the flight attendant and pilot, but she refused to do so. When officers arrived, she initially still refused, but eventually exited the plane.
The report states that while speaking with officers, Owens "took off running down the breezeway and exited out a fire exit by Gate 5 and onto the ramp area next to the runway."

LOLOL!
Looks like an escapee from a happy farm.
Florida woman?
Quite a day on Free Republic.
A lot of mental illness related stories. Woman going nuts on a plane. Guy transitioning into a dog.
Well, have a nice weekend.
Mental breakdown of some sort.

She should now be eligible for a verdict of “life” on the no-fly list.
She got off the plane, didn’t she?
>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
She certainly did, and she should never be allowed on another one.
Abusive husband waiting to pick her up? Drug induced psychosis? A psychological condition?
>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
Causes and motives are totally irrelevant. Lock her up!
Former Mayor of Chicago charged...?

Certainly can’t argue with that.
Jail records show Owens also has a hold out of Denton County, Texas.
She was arrested which is why the causes will be relevant.

The causes for which she was arrested are definitely relevant. My comment was in reference to those causes that were suggested as possible explanations for her behavior. In my view those causes should be deemed completely irrelevant because they are invariably introduced to defend behavior that should be deemed indefensible.
I do not like having people behaving in illegal ways, but also do not like being told that my curiosity to understanding what motivates people is irrelevant.

I didn’t suggest that your interest in what motivates people to behave in illegal ways is irrelevant. My point is that, with the exception of self-defense, no testimony regarding motive should be admissible at trial.
