Lebron James’ I Promise School in Akron, Ohio is facing major backlash from Akron Public School Board members after it was reported that the school hasn’t had one student from its 8th grade class pass a state math test in over three years.
Akron Public School board member Valerie McKitrick was shocked by the new revelation and stated “Not one? In three years?” after she was presented with data that showed not one single student in the school’s fall 8th-grade class couldnpass a Ohio stated math proficiency test.
Keith Liechty-Clifford who serves as Akron’s district director of school improvement went on record saying the new finding “Is discouraging.”
Despite receiving massive funding from the James Foundation along with local, state, and federal funding, the I Promise school’s “Black students and those with disabilities, are now testing in the bottom 5% in the state.”
The low test scores will now cause the Ohio Department of Education to intervene at the school in a last effort attempt to reverse the downtrend in test scores.

Sounds about right.
If they just had more money little Travon could learn. If only there were more programs for the disadvantaged little Kamika could be the brain surgeon she has always dreamed of being and make a good life for her four chillren.

The Dribbling Academy.
MAth be racist, dum cave bitch...
I found Sweet Brown quite likeable, though likely not too bright...
LeBron is seriously the stupidest athlete I have ever heard talk.
I know Shannon Sharpe sounds like Mushmouth from Fat Albert.
Those videos of the current yutes not knowing much of anything are depressing but I’m beginning to think quite accurate. At least for a good chunk of the population out there.
Hint: money has very, very little to do with learning.
Sheee-it you don want to be actin’ white.
They need even more funding to pay for all the additional administrators it will take.
Is my understanding correct that LeBron funded (himself and/or through fundraising) the initial build of the high school, but that subsequent costs were to be covered by the school district and local businesses and homeowners?
Sheeeiit....
How insanely stupid does one have to be to be in the bottom 5% of Ohio?
Cleveland, Cincinnati, Akron, Dayton, Toledo, Columbus...
A lot of these kids are getting free tuition and housing at UAkron and my daughter said that most don’t appear to appreciate it at all. That they’re unappreciative and entitled.
Exactly. Guarantee the test changes next time and kids pass.
With the exactly zero research time I just didn’t spend, I will say yes.
I really hate what sports has become but the best part of the news is the interviews of the razorback players notwithstanding the goofy spring hair. The misplaced fawning hero worship is simply astounding. So I don’t get accused of using a broad brush again by some here, “most” needed help to get into high screwl let alone get out of it.
No rigor and no accountability. So the school is doomed to failure. One of the reasons Clarence Thomas is against Affirmative Action.
When you have the Race Card, you don’t need to know maffs.
If they don’t make the NFL, many are likely to become criminals.
It’s as if contingency planning is a white thing.
I expect they will all be paid a lot of money for failing the racist math tests.
