I see many Republican candidates proudly exclaim the importance of USA being the strong leader of the free world.
I'm curious what that means for today, and why that is important. What values is USA promoting in other countries in the world. Which examples of successes do we have to show from this role as a leader in the past 20 years.
Maybe I'm too ignorant about all the many nuances of the international scene. Can someone explain what this means and why it is important?

The community of Russians I have met in the last 5 years are normal, not spies and way more conservative than most Americans.
Many came here in the 80’s and are shocked how poorly they are being treated by Americans.

You are a kind individual. Many are more direct, like me. We have drugs showing up in the white house, the son of the president that cheats on paying his ex for child support and settles at $750K, and a president that sniffs little girls.
And the buck doesn’t stop there, but I don’t need to hash up old impurities with political sleazes or the military. All have seen those results.
