Disney, Anheuser-Busch, Target... what will be the next arrogant woke company to hit the wall?
For the overwhelming majority of my life the Walt Disney company has stood as an American icon, like Mount Rushmore or the Statue of Liberty. At some point not too long ago that all changed, radically. Disney, like so many of our institutions and financial ventures, became infected with the woke virus, and shambled along the road to the progressive promised land like a horror movie zombie. The only difference is that the repurposed Disney hungers for our children, not brains.
The entire strategy of the Left infiltrating institutions is to herd the rest of us into a socialist utopia. The stagnation and fall of the Soviet Union finally woke the arrogant intelligentsia up to the fact that the masses weren’t going to buy their snake oil willingly. We’re just too ignorant and selfish to know what’s best for us. An attitude which squares nicely with their natural inclination to meddle in the lives of others anyway. So, the long march through the institutions was embarked upon. If we wouldn’t stride down the primrose path to utopia, they’d drive us there like cattle instead.
Disney is simply one offensive on the entertainment front of the culture war. BlackRock seeks to make it impossible to be employed without bowing to the DEI idol. The lords of higher education require you to indenture your future earnings for the doubtful benefit of a fill-in-the-aggrieved-minority-here studies degree. And the monolithic media is tasked with making sure everyone parrots the same litany, with no dissent allowed.
So far, events had run pretty much according to the grand plan. Then, a funny thing happened on the way to utopia. We, the people, suddenly and inexplicably stopped giving a hoot about...

It doesn’t seem that there has been a woke back-off after the Butt Light episode. But they are donkeys after all. It may take a bat to get their attention.
What is surprising is that the current crop of movie producers and directors are as inept as they are woke. The owners of the James Bond franchise periodically replaced the actor playing the 007 character for a younger man. Why wasn’t the same done for Indiana Jones, replacing the octogenarian Harrison Ford with a younger man?
Those "sinkholes" have been created by dope smoking, inbred fools who think they can create a "utopia."
How's that working out for you fools?
“Disney, Anheuser-Busch, Target... what will be the next arrogant woke company to hit the wall?”
Wasn’t Bed, bath and beyond actually first?
The problem with Indiana Jones is not Harrison Ford’s age so much as Kathleen Kennedy. She’s the same one who singlehandedly wrecked the Star Wars franchise Disney paid a fortune to get as well. She used exactly the same formula for both. Denigrate the main characters. Tell the audience they were stupid for ever having liked the main characters - heterosexual White Males. Replace the main characters with a young British Brunette female who can do no wrong (ie what Kennedy fantasizes herself to be) and fill the movie with a bunch of woke garbage. Spend a pile of cash doing all of this.
Then sit back and watch it crash and burn at the box office.
Then wait for Disney to hand her another extremely valuable property to ruin and another pile of cash to do it with.
I have a timeshare on Disney World I would be willing to sell for a dollar. Except that then, you would have to pick up the $100 per month maintenance assessment, and only get like about one week a year or so.
I only keep it because Mrs. alloysteel doesn’t yet wish to give it up.
In the 2008 Indiana Jones and the Crystal Skull, they had the bright idea of bringing in Shia LaBeouf as Indiana’s son, with the evident plan of having him carry on for the aging Ford.
Not the brightest idea.
Pure Evil. Latest Disney Production Is Cartoon About a Girl Who Inherits a Ritualistic Killing, Blood Drinking Cult from her Father (VIDEO)

“The two-minute first look teases New Yorker and “It Girl” Petra aka “Petey” grappling with her life turning upside down when she must move from her big-city life to a place called New Utopia. It’s a community her father founded, only it’s not like most. Here, everyone’s part of a cult. Even worse? They believe Petey’s their prophesized savior.”
New Utopia. How ironic is that both these articles were printed the same day?
It could have been worse.
They could have chosen to have Indian Jones to have sired a daughter to join him on his swash buckling quest.
The wokesters would have loved to have a spritely young girl run through a Incan pyramid kicking the butts of muscle bound Nazis.
It is apt.
The author of the article sort of gets at what I've beenpondering--the only way for what the author describes to work is cooperation. The Soviet Union was a little too blatant, so the idea was to essentially exploit people's trust in institutions to implement something they otherwise would on a whole reject.
1. Some cooperate willingly.
2. Another number are addled/deluded (blue pilled, and act as the 'woman in the red dress' when needed).
3. Another number of people (greater than the first two) cooperate to minimize what they see as the hassle of resisting (sort of blue pilled).
4. And another group just flat out refuse (red pill).
In the last three, it requires a fiction, 'The Matrix' if you will, to obtain cooperation.
It works fine as long as times are good, and demands are light. Not so much when times are bad, and the inevitable human nature of those in the 'willingly' part places more and more demands upon the rest, and don't follow the 'rules'.
So now, more are losing faith in those institutions due to what wiser men called a 'long train of abuses and usurpations'. This is where the first group starts to panic in a way, and as the fiction becomes outlandish or requiring too much effort to maintain, resort to outright coercion.
So, refuse to cooperate.
“I, for one, have fond memories of decades upon decades of uplifting, heartwarming, beautiful, entertaining movies and shows to come out of Disney studios.”
Not me. Disney movies are full of horror, tragedy, and trauma.
Old Yeller gets shot.
Bambi’s mom gets shot.
Parents get divorced.
Families break up.
Stepmothers try to kill their stepdaughters.
Etc.
No thanks.
I sort of disagree. The long march began in the first half of the 20th century when Marxists took over the arts & humanities fields of academia. They used the academic tenure process to ideologically vet newcomers and self-perpetuate their malignancy.
From there the cancer spread.
“Wasn’t Bed, bath and beyond actually first?”
From my memory it was J.C. Penny. 20 years ago they decided it would be a good idea to run a sales flyer full of homosexuals. They’re still around, but it effectively destroyed them.
-——then, a funny thing happened on the way to utopia.——
Then in Oregon, most of the state abandoned the city of Portland where the progressive cancer is killing the city
Went to high school with a guy that did a few photo shoots for Penny’s back in the 80s......after a short time he told me he quit.......when I asked him why because I knew it was good money he said every other male was homosexual and he couldn’t stand to be around ‘em.
So, refuse to cooperate.
yes that is the rebellion
"The word utopia was coined in 1516 from Ancient Greek by the Englishman Sir Thomas More for his Latin text Utopia. It literally translates as “no place”, coming from the Greek: οὐ (“not”) and τόπος (“place”), and meant any non-existent society, when ‘described in considerable detail’. However, in standard usage, the word's meaning has shifted and now usually describes a non-existent society that is intended to be viewed as considerably better than contemporary society."

"Woke" is asleep, and being continually asleep is a very bad thing for a business as for a government. Dreaming of "no place" which is "non-existent" is not anything more than a nightmare, painted with pastels and fluffly clown makeup.
Agreed.
Disney can only take so many losses and they have had them the past 18 months, losing estimated $900 Million so far. Indiana Jones will be the most expensive failure they have had in a long time. My personal estimate is that they will lost at least $500 Million on this.
I saw the film and really liked it, Ford was amazing and made the whole thing work and doing an action picture at 80 was really amazing. The physical shape he was in was rather inspiring to see.
The reasons for failure were way beyond his control, wrong director, bloated fil budget, could have a little better script, better marketing and finally they should have had no Kathleen Kennedy. She may well be on way out finally, but long after the damage has been done.
