Leaving aside the religious aspect of this, how stupid would one have to be to ask for “all references to God” to be removed from a script where one of the main characters is a Catholic priest?

"The Count of Monte Christo is a great movie."
The Count of Monte Christo is also a great book. I read it as a child before they made the movie. The family had a collection of Dumas's novels' translations. I still have them now eighty years later.

“I said, ‘One of those what? One of those who rewrite Alexandre Dumas? One of those who rewrite Shakespeare? because that’s essentially what you did,’” he said.
That was a great line of reasoning by Caviezel. Obviously he is Christian and Disney was looking for a fight.

Exactly
Sin angers Him on general principle but this sin is especially hateful to Him and is expressly singled out for an exceptionally severe judgment.

I’ve been reasonably fluent in French since 1960. Concurring; it’s Du-MAH.

"Yeah, it’s an old joke from an advertisement about job interviews gone bad. A prospective employer says from behind a desk showing his last name to be “Dumas.” Plainly, in French, his name would be “Doo-mah.” It’s usually translated into English, however, as “Doom-iss.”"
Nice, that's the best part of adult interaction here, the education provided! I was indeed "missing something," the cultural joke reference. Thank you very much!
To: Notthemomma
You’re welcome.
I still can’t believe Bob Saget chose the pronunciation he did, being so close to an old-fashioned cuss word for a gay man. Worse than that, a New England grocery store chain, Roche Brothers, is pronounced “Roach Brothers,” instead of “Rawsh Brothers.” (I don’t expect them to expect a completely French pronunciation, ‘Rawshuh’; I do expect foreign last names to be assimilated towards English phonemes.)
