I still can’t believe Bob Saget chose the pronunciation he did, being so close to an old-fashioned cuss word for a gay man. Worse than that, a New England grocery store chain, Roche Brothers, is pronounced “Roach Brothers,” instead of “Rawsh Brothers.” (I don’t expect them to expect a completely French pronunciation, ‘Rawshuh’; I do expect foreign last names to be assimilated towards English phonemes.)
