If you don't know what you are celebrating, why make any noise about it?
They’re a number of restrictions on fireworks here, but I can say with certainty that before 2023, every evening was ramping up by now.
It’s just awful quiet.
Nearly time to go outside and do my wetting routine around the house...
Yeah, that work thing sucks, considering that I’ll be up to midnight on fire watch because most people are born stupid and some never grow out of it.
Our nearby small town completed it’s fireworks display about 30 minutes before a major thunderstorm and downpour began. Just enough time for everyone to load up the tired children and head home. The festivities started at 9:00 this morning and lasted all day.
Now God is showing his power and providing his own display of bright lights and loud noises. The rain did send the neighbors all in so it looks as if those fireworks are done for the night. But, I’m sure the local children enjoyed their fun.
It is very quiet in Newton, Alabama too.
Suburban Philly.
Noisy as heck up here, north of Tampa in New Port Richey.
Lots of fireworks still going off after 11:00 pm.
Lots of goings on here like usual.
I’m not in a festive mood though. Haven’t been for years. Somewhere between not gloomy and something else but not festive. Mostly wonder when some other shoe is going to fall.
In my 7 decades I never thought we would see times like this. Sure, there have been hard times before but in most of them we were all fighting for the same things. Now, it is just destruction for its own sake. An endless parade of idiocy and mostly action against everything I thought was good and right.
But I love Wyoming, and the Old West.
“...I am experiencing no fireworks in Tampa, Florida...”
“...It is very quiet in Newton, Alabama too...”

Why do you depend on other people?
Why didn’t you buy some and light them off?
Wow, never saw that before.
That’s impressive.
In my suburb in south Orlando, backyard fireworks were constant for hours. Only now, after 11 PM, are they almost over.
We live in the heart of the most friendly crowd in North Idaho. The Fourth of July parade today in Coeur d’Alene was incredibly patriotic. Great people.
Chicago sounds like a war zone every day, but more so on the Fourth of July and New Years Eve.
I can’t wait to get the hell out of here.
“Horrywoood”, Just look up the periscope...
“...a ton of American flags being waved on PBS”
That irks me SO much. Those bastards HATE on America for 364 days then pretend to love the country on ONE day.
Hmmmm.
So, no real cows.
It’s nearly midnight here in south Jersey across the river from Philly, and the fireworks haven’t let up since it got dark. :-)
Winter haven florida. Fireworks everywhere.
We have plenty of firecrackers, official shows and lots of illegal going off.
But I’m getting dispirited by the parades a bit.
Nothing that much patriotic anymore. It’s just some people put flags (including the fag flag this year) on their ATVs, but outside a few bands that don’t really play patriotic stuff, it’s mostly local business and organizations promoting themselves. Including schools, etc.
In my day you actually had to entertain the crowd and have that talent, not just be a kid at a school to get in a parade. Or part of some organization driving motorcycles or golf carts dressed up. Never mind you usually went with the theme of patriotic marches and so on.
