Is there an “ enter” button that allows the volume or channel controls to move the selection up or down?

I do not have a Roku TV but just the other day I had to reset-up my remote.   There is a network menu item to resync the remote to the roku.   That is probably what you need to do.

If you have a smart phone you can download the ROKU app which has a remote control for your phone

If you can’t find a new remote for that TV then go buy a new TV. You can also buy a plain TV and then buy the ROKU separately. You can even buy Roku remotes at Walmart.

You could also lookup your particular TV on line with the added comment that the remote does not work and see if you find any suggestions.

go to settings on the menu then go to remotes and devices.

click Remotes and there is an option to add a new remote.

Open the cover on the battery box and there should be a small button.   Press that for about ten seconds and the led on the front of the remote should start blinking.   That indicates that it is sending a signal to the Roku TV. The menu item should change to remote found and it should tell you when the remote is paired to the TV.

I thought about but it's a hassle to setup one phone to four Rokus when I have the remote already in my hand and I don't carry my phone around the house.   I'm old school I guess.

Have a cheap Roku TV at our cabin...lost the remote, but a Roku remote from Amazon works great and was less than $10. There are also Roku remote apps for your phone. Some better than others. Might be better to get a purchased app and avoid those nagging ads

We have a TCL Roku TV. A while back the thing stopped updating the software system. My son tried everything in the TV settings, and it wouldn't work. He ended up calling the company for support, and what they made him do caused the TV to not work at all. They told him it would be several days before anyone could get back to him. He was pissed, so went online and checked to see if there were any other options. He found a solution by using a straightened paperclip to push the reset button on the TV connector panel. It brought the TV back online, and it has been updating the software again regularly.

I'm surprised nobody from TCL told my son to do that. I just found a link to the instructions by doing a simple search on Bing. Don't know if it will help you, but here's the link:

What if I Can't Access the Factory Reset Option (on my TCL Roku TV)

Sorry for the hassle. Roku tv’s are great. TV plugged in: check. New batteries: check. TV turned on: check. Can you get to Settings? If so, then you can pair a new $10 Roku from Amazon.

Did you buy it from a private seller? Otherwise, I would think any outlet should have remotes that can be purchased for the Roku unit. If you bough the unit from a seller I would think they would replace a defective remote.

But seriously, you couldn't think this through on your own?

No, you pretty much have to have a functioning remote control.

I have a Roku TV. Easy to use but you need a remote. You should be able to order a replacement remote.

If the batteries leaked, one would THINK that you would clean an acid with a base, but alkaline batteries are actually leaking a base.

I roughest a q tip soaked in lemon juice. Apply liberally over the battery contacts and anywhere the white powder was found. For what it’s worth, Kirkland batteries (Costco) are frequentl leakers and have done more damage than the cost savings. If you and kids and blow through them, they are a good value. If you have assorted things (electrical sights on weapons, satellite clocks, assorted lasers, etc) buy the name brands. It’s your $$$. Just my advice

If you need to rub, I suggest the rubber eraser on a pencil. Blot dry with a paper towel

Good luck.

Amazon will have their annual Amazon Days July 11-12 and a new Roku, Firestick, should be had for cheap. Good luck
