And when beer prices are making news at an event, it’s never a good thing for the folks who bought the tickets.
, a six-pack of Busch Light or Michelod Ultra will run you $63. That’s about five times the price of a 12-pack of cans outside the event.
Brutal.
Good news is, if you just want a single beer, that will only cost you $10.50 … or about the price of a 12-pack.
Of course, you don’t have to drink beer at all. A bottle of Dasani comes in at a “cheap” $3.95.
Or you can kick back at home, pay normal prices, watch the race and probably save a couple thousand more dollars.

Remember wine coolers. That was the go to for the Alice’s in the frats.
I thought the only beer you could buy in Chicago was “Old Style”, but it’s been quite a few years since I have been there.
Yuengling if it’s available where you are.
You haven’t been to a major event in a while I can see. You have to go through nearly “DHS at the airport” security check.
I only go to professional sports events when it’s on the company dime. My company owns luxury boxes in many of the nation’s stadiums. Our food and beverage tab comes to thousands of dollars at each game. I’m talking burgers, hot dogs, nachos, beer, water and wine. Nothing too fancy.
The irony is that nobody really pays attention to the game in these luxury boxes. It’s mostly about schmoozing the clients.
“Whatever happened to good old grain alcohol and rainwater?”
That ain’t good enough for the hoity toity swells. They value things by how much it costs, not whether it’s really any good.
I’d settle for a pint of Popcorn Sutton’s last run.
For my only cruise, I took a 24 pack of bottled water. I carefully emptied the case without disturbing the plastic wrap around the case. I then emptied the center bottles and filled with vodka. I then glued the tops shut (in case someone tried to open one). I then reassembled the case. I got two liters of vodka on board with no one the wiser. We only drank before leaving the room and after entering the room. We still bought mixed drinks, so it was not obvious what we did. Oh yeah, we tipped the room staff pretty well.
Blatz if you can find it
back in the day pint tucked into Frye boot did the trick when attending Blackhawks at Old Chicago Stadium. Get a few cokes to share and enjoy the game...As I said years ago
Oly!
I can get a gallon of Arizona Iced Tea or Fruit drink for US$3.28 to US$3.99 per gallon in my area.
