measles, also called rubeola, contagious viral disease marked by fever, cough, conjunctivitis, and a characteristic rash. Measles is most common in children but may appear in older persons who escaped it earlier in life. Infants are immune up to four or five months of age if the mother has had the disease. Immunity to measles following an attack is usually lifelong.

My brother and I both had it when I was 4. We were quarantined while we were sick. Only Mom came in to check on us, and she never stayed long. I remember sleeping a lot, and the room had the blinds drawn. The sunlight really bothered me. I feel like I slept for days on end, and then about a week later, started improving. My brother was in first grade, so he probably got it at school, and then I did, because we were nearly constant companions at that age. We were the only two in a family of eight that got sick with the measles.

You are seeing the effects of vaccination. Most case in children are ok, but adults and a rare case of measles, as any of the “6 childhood diseases” could have some serious consequences.

I caught Fifth Disease from my son in 2019, and especially as an adult, it was no picnic. I half suspect maybe it has long-term caused a lot of my body pains of the last few years.

Mumps almost killed my dad when I was little.

“Immunity to measles following an attack is usually lifelong”

Just wait a gosh darn minute!

We’ve been told the Absolute TRUTH for 3 years that Real Science declares pre-existing infection doesn’t give you immunity.
How dare you go against the teachings of Saint Fauci and the Prophet Hotez!

Blasphemer!

What is the purpose of posting this?   The Measles vaccine came out sixty years ago.   What's the deal here?

Mumps almost killed my dad when I was little.

Mumps nearly killed my older brother when he was 13. He developed a rare but not unheard-of complication from Mumps – encephalitis AND meningitis. He seemed to be recovering from the Mumps and getting better but then suddenly fell ill again - high fever, convulsions, confusion and hallucinations. The family doctor had him sent strait to the hospital, calling ahead so he would be admitted immediately to the ICU.

He fell into a coma; his veins were collapsing and organs failing. He was given Last Rites. He was not expected to live but even if he did, wasn’t expected to make a full recovery, it was thought he might have had irreversible brain damage. But by a miracle he did live and eventually fully recovered. Eventually.

His recovery wasn’t immediate or easy. He spent nearly 2 months in the hospital, learning to feed, dress himself, talk, walk, as all his motor skills were seriously messed up for quite a while. He lost nearly half of his body weight and musculature and didn’t truly recover for many more months even after his release from the hospital.

He missed nearly half a year of school and never really got back up to speed academically, dropping out of HS in the 11th grade.

My parents didn’t ever want to go through this again (or for me to) so they made sure I got all my vaccinations.

Yes, it was a big deal.

Chicken pox not so much but measles usually made you very sick and could lead to life long complications. And yes children and adults died of it.

How old are you? In the 50’s and 60’s, even the 70’s nobody took the Measle vaccine. What Mothers feared were the German Measles. Like Mumps, and Chicken Pox, it is better for you to get the disease early. Lifetime immunity, and Mothers giving immunity to kids, who give it to grandkids. Vaccines should be doled out sparsely, kids should grow up at home until they are 5-18, no day care. Keep them away from strangers, and the Moms who love their children so much they chose work, and promiscuous sex over marriage and family. Vaccinations are a tool of those who want to program humans, because they are required to go to school. At least for citizens, and legal immigrants.

The ONLY vaccine I have EVER had in my lifetime was smallpox and I intend for it to stay that way!! We were NEVER forced to have a slew of vaccines put into us to attend school we had ALL of the childhood diseases and went on with life!! I have NEVER even had a flu vaccine have had the flu ONCE in my life and that was the Hong Kong flu, I recovered from that and have NEVER had as much as a sniffle since then!! I got Covid last Dec. last time I was that sick was with the Hong Kong flu I stayed in bed for damn near 2 weeks took aspirin every four hours lots of C and Zinc and recovered just fine, I am 70 Covid was NEVER a death sentence as everyone would have you believe our immune systems are magical when left to do what they are supposed to do!!!
