Re: "If Prigozhin is being supported by some faction of oligarchs..."

I disagree.

Ultimately, support for Prigozhin vs. Putin is coming from the Biden Administration.

Gee, I wonder who that might be? There was some sort of bookkeeping error reported the other day and the money was being given to Ukraine?

There is a lot of money floating around...
Most of it Russian. A lot of people probably want their sequestered assets back.

The world wants this war over. Putting this on that creaky figurehead Biden is silly. There is a big world out there, and putting the US in the causal chain of everything is parochial.

Well to be honest I don’t quite know what to make of the current situation over there. Whether its some sort of psyop or whether Prigozhin is actually rebelling. I guess we will soon find out.

My take is that the US military wanted budget leeway to transfer more weapons to Ukraine on an accelerated basis. My guess is HIMARS glsdb, artillery ammo, etc.

I’ve been following some of the pro Russian telegram channels. Wagner is definitely moving. Police and military they’ve encountered on the ground aren’t trying to stop them. There have been some helicopter attacks on the Wagner column. I think one Russian helicopter may have been shot down.

Remember that Wagner are pretty fierce fighters, probably many times better, per soldier, than the Russian forces.

It’s the fog of war as usual.
And this sort of thing is heavily dependent on individuals (”great men” in historian-speak) and mass psychology.
Anything can happen, and I expect to be surprised by something, however it falls out.

“Ask yourself why Putin didn’t slap down Prigozhin. “

The problem for Putin is that Wagner proved itself the only capable fighting force. The regular army, Chechens, Rosgvardiya, etc. all failed in their objectives in Ukraine.

Wagner took Bakhmut, and was given a massive arsenal to do so.

Putin is now regretting just how many weapons he handed over the Wagner.

I’ve been kicking around the thought of what the term nuclear-armed means to Lutin at this moment. Are they useful and would he use them inside his borders? It would he threaten the West to use them unless we come save his regime from Wagner? How do they benefit him here?

Apparently there’s video of the helicopter shot down. Can’t verify: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PmpBDfkPmHc

“Putin is being protected, just as an American President would be.”

The question is who can he trust. Do any of the generals defending Moscow want to become president?

Rumors that Putin is calling upon the Chechens to save him. but how far can he rely on Kadyrov?

It might very well be a deception. But what if it is not. Have you sorted through the consequences? My question is who would replace Putin? Is someone even more hardline than him? He has always assumed that he was God’s choice to lead the world in a Christian wave (almost in a messianic way), and vanquish all of his enemies, but how does it hurt us if he is deposed? Sadam Hussein and Muammar Qudafi are good examples. When they were taken down, then the vacuum was filled with equally bad elements. I suspect that there are much more sinister elements involved here, but who are they? China? The WEF? etc. Putin has definitely made some awesome enemies, but he might very well be a chess piece that is about to be knocked off the board. What is the next move? You are right about one thing. Trust nothing. Believe no one. The man behind the curtain is saying “Don’t look at that old man behind the curtain, he is nothing”.

They become more of a hinderance to the central government. Putin needs to make sure that 100% of the many scattered nuke sites are defended. That ties down a lot of troops.

If Wagner gets even a handful of nukes it changes everything.

Well, Moscow always wanted to be seen as the third Rome. The overthrow of the emperor by a popular general was an old Roman tradition.

It’s all a deception.

Let me guess. You heard that from a Q-anon posting on 4-chan.

Or maybe from the radio the CIA implanted in your teeth.
