Garth Brooks has defended his decision to sell Bud Light in his Nashville bar after some fans said they would no longer listen to his music.
The country music legend, 61, acknowledged his plans to stock the beer, which has been boycotted over a tie-up with trans influencer Dylan Mulvaney, caused 'quite a little bit of a stir'.
But Brooks repeated his commitment to 'inclusiveness' and added that if the beer doesn't sell, he'll take 'action'.
The controversy unfolded last Wednesday when Brooks told Billboard his Nashville bar, Friends In Low Places Bar & Honky Tonk, will sell 'every brand of beer'. He also said 'if you're an a**hole, there are plenty of other places' to drink.
Some fans took issue with the decision and even said they'd boycott his music.
Brooks addressed the controversy at the opening of his Inside Studio G show on Monday night.
'Let's address two things on it,' he said. 'One is diversity, inclusiveness. That's me, it's always been me. We got the same kind of thing on We Shall Be Free, people wanted to burn our stuff. I get it, everybody has got their opinions.'
He was referencing his 1992 track We Shall Be Free, which some country radio stations refused to play at the time because of its progressive themes. The song included the lines 'when we're free to love anyone we choose... then we shall be free'.
Brooks added: 'Inclusiveness is always going to be me. I think diversity is the answer to the problems that are here and the answer to the problems that are coming. So I love diversity, all included, all are welcome.
'I understand that might not be other people's opinions, but that's okay, man. They have their opinions, they have their beliefs, I have mine.

I asked my niece’s fiancee if he liked country music. He said no, and I was surprised. Then I got to thinking, if I were his age, I would not like country music either.
The Grand Ole Opry is on TV now, which is a good thing. It alerts people not to waste their time going to it. Talk about squirrels they have on stage now.
Didn’t know Garth was that way?
‘I love diversity’: Country star Garth Brooks DEFENDS serving Bud Light at his ‘Friends in Low Places’ bar in Nashville after conservative backlash - but admits there’s been ‘quite a stir’!
Garth may be a covert left wing gay lover.
Or he flunked math in his stupid marketing.
I wonder what Chris Gaines thinks about all of this.
He has had a sister that is a lesbian.
Yeah, Garth took the worst of pop music, the worst of rock music and the worst of country music and merged them all together into an unholy trinity.
The Brits would call him a nonce. I say pedo.
Tranny crappola is all about seducing kiddies. Supporting that in any way makes you a collaborator. Continuing to buy BLight is no better than buying ChicFilA — both supporters of pedo and child mutilation.
He is a caricature of himself.
There are many other Has-beens just like Garth. Once their star has faded they will do anything to get attention, even if it means denigrating their former audience. His only real job was working at a bar, so it's not surprising that he now owns one.
Well we know he is a jerk.
He loves perversity since he’s an adulterer.
Don’t listen to Garth Brooks, or most music that has been labeled as “country/western” for the last 40 years. Not interested in him owning a bar or what he sells. My bottom line on this: Meh
I have long suspected that Garthie is a bit “light in the loafers.”
I'm sorry but "DEI" and "safe spaces" and all that other nonsense is destructively detrimental and will only serve to make employees dumber and severely damage companies. So unless the goal is to completely destroy Corporate America and U.S. capitalism, it's an obviously huge mistake. But I'm sure China's communist leaders love that New Direction for the U.S. The anti-U.S. George Soros loves it, too.
I saw him say his sister was a lesbian and she plays in his band. Now, would mind explaining what you just said, or do you just enjoy being mysterious and dramatic?
Sorry. Thought it was obvious. She died. 2013.
Well, I was hoping she met some guy.
Defends serving Bud Light?
Defends offering Bud Light!
Big difference in having it on hand and not selling any.
You must have directed that to someone else. No clue.
