CHICAGO (WLS) -- Surveillance video captured the chaotic moments just after 1 a.m. on Sunday, when seven people were shot, one of them fatally, during a large gathering in Chicago's Austin neighborhood.
Dozens of people can be seen running away from gunfire, taking shelter behind vehicles. Among them was a gunman, dressed in jeans and a white top. He opened fire before running away.
Police said the gathering started out as a celebration of life.
Terry'a Adams, 25, was killed in the shooting. The group was gathering to remember her boyfriend, who died in a crash four years ago.
"She said, 'I'll be back, ma.' She's not back," said Adams' mother, Pinkie McBride. ""Y'all killed my baby. She had a future."
Adams' mother says she was supposed to start nursing school in August.

I’ll have to add that to my list of names for children most likely to be murdered or to murder someone.
It was easy for the men, but the women were a mystery. Surely Tamika, LaQuita and Tanisha would be killed. Now Terry’a is a rare but almost certain winner.

Maybe the law we need is a national curfew. Everyone under 50 needs to be in their own home after 9pm or when the street lights come on. If going to work/from work must show work exemption.

How can anyone who even claims to be Christian not be outraged at these murders and attempted murders? Souls are going to hell.
You can only be outraged for so long.
But if the people of Chicago don’t care enough to do something about, why should I?
That’s very near the house where I grew up. There were many manufacturers mixed into the areas side streets where a kid out of high school could find a decent paying job and walk to work.
It’s been beyond bad for quite a while.
Yeah 99.9 percent of white people have zero understanding of how the life is like in Austin, Garfield Park, Englewood, Lawndale,…. But not just chicago, its the same in Baltimore, Philly, DC, Detroit, …. Unless theres a revival, nothing gonna change.
