Your Amazon Prime plan might soon cut your cellphone bill down to around $10 — or even make it free

Amazon could be gearing up to offer "Prime Wireless." The low-cost cellphone plan could help Amazon boost its Prime subscribers, Bloomberg reports. Amazon is reportedly talking to T-Mobile, Verizon, and Dish about the idea. Amazon may soon be dangling yet another perk in front of prospective Prime members: the chance to save big on your monthly cellphone bill.

The company is in talks with wireless carriers about potentially offering a Prime Wireless plan that could range from $0 to $10 per month for Amazon Prime members, Bloomberg reported on Friday. T-Mobile, Verizon, and Dish have all been involved in the talks, according to the report, though the idea could take months to launch and could still fail to pan out.

"We are always exploring adding even more benefits for Prime members, but don't have plans to add wireless at this time," an Amazon spokesperson, Bradley Mattinger, told Insider in a statement.

"Amazon is a great partner to T-Mobile in many areas, and we are always interested in working more closely with our crosstown neighbors in new ways," a T-Mobile spokesperson told Insider. "However, we are not in discussions about inclusion of our wireless in Prime service, and Amazon has told us they have no plans to add wireless service."

Prime usually works very well for me. For example, about two hours ago I ordered a case of Keurig coffee pods (at a price far cheaper than any store or other online vendor), and the doorbell just rang to notify me of the delivery. I’m on the outskirts of a large city, so maybe that’s a factor.

“Anti-Monopoly Laws?!?!?!?! What are those?”

Monopoly was a fun game. I saw a special big black box edition in a thrift shop recently.

I would like to play again.

Back in the day we used calculators instead of bankers
And you could go negative, but if another player caught you you had to pay them a fine and mtg properties to be solvent

Same here, except I live in a town with less than 20K. Ordered multiple items to take advantage of Florida’s awesome and expanded disaster prep sales tax holiday. Everything ordered this morning has arrived. I also use Subscribe and Save, paying attention to skip items when not needed each month. Saves both time and money with minimal effort.

If I were Lenin, I might consider being reincarnated as Jeff Bezos to get my fingers in every aspect of the economy, plus soft soft-Stasi like personal information gathering.

They also have a $19.99, 3 month plan. That is about $6.63/month.

"Never use T-Mobile if you’re a rural dweller. T-Mobile is an urban carrier annd once you leave the interstate or city they have the worse service going."

My oldest son had T-Mobile at least 10-12 years ago. Service was terrible then. It was weird. His calls from two hours away were horrible...alot of static, and he sounded like he was calling from inside a garbage can. The only time his calls were normal, and clear, was when he called me from overseas while traveling. He said their customer service sucked too. Verizon is the only carrier I've ever used, and would never change. About 8 or 9 years ago, when I went from a 3G phone to an iPhone, my bars went from 4 to barely 2, they sent me a network booster for free because I've been a long-time customer. I've had 4 bars ever since. In all the years I've had the booster, I only had a problem with it one time, and they quickly worked on resolving the issue.

My results are different -I’m running 945 Mbps download speeds on 5G. No issues, so it’s not everywhere.

In spite of knowing Bezos owns it, I haven’t yet cut off my nose and really do enjoy using Amazon Prime for home delivery.

That may change now that my commie governor and his Marxist minions in the legislature have rammed through a 75 cent “fee” on all home deliveries, from Amazon to pizza.

Been a loyal & satisfied Prime user since day one...

However, will not rock the boat and switch wireless to them, even if free...

We are have two places, one in the heart of Silicon Valley and one in a semi-rural part of North Idaho. T-Mobile is actually better in our Idaho location than the Silicon Valley location. We used to have Verizon but cut our bill in half (with unlimited data) by switching to T-Mobile. The quality is proportional to the price.

The T-Mobile data service is rock solid both places. But voice calls and voice quality are horrible.

I live in N FL Gulf Coast and travel weekly in N FL, SW GA, and SE AL—probably 300-400 miles. There are places on my drives where I drive for 30 or more miles without T-Mobile service. We switched to Verizon and now I never experience a dead spot on any part of my travels. However, I do have T-Mobile home internet device and I love it! Faster than Mediacom and much cheaper...So, good and bad experiences with T-Mobile with us...

Paying for purchases at other web sites with Amazon Cash is another great Amazon idea.... nice NOT having credit and bank card information all over the internet.

Cellphones with Amazon will be another Prime perk...

One request: Could Amazon set up ‘stores’ on site - so if we want the credibility of Walgreens or CVS we can shop their ‘store’ on Amazon and NOT have to worry we’re buying second had stolen goods?

Also clothing chosen by ‘buyers’ of upscale established retail stores would be nice... even a take over of “Tuesday Morning’... and dump some of the ‘highest profits for crap’ sellers .

AI search wold help...

Come on Amazon - become what a memorable ‘small town’ offers.

Amazon can not be trusted. Amazon employees steal from customer account

The fact that a call service is offred free is an indicator the Prime price is just to expensive anyway
