A landlord in Canada brutally killed a young engaged couple who lived in his building over an apparent housing dispute Saturday before he was shot dead by police.
The 57-year-old fatally shot tenants Carissa MacDonald and Aaron Stone outside a home in Stoney Creek, Ontario, on Saturday evening, Hamilton police said.
Both MacDonald, 27, and Stone, 28, were already dead when officers reached the property at 322 Jones Road around 5:40 p.m., the officials said.
The couple was “fleeing the residence” when they were shot, Hamilton Detective Sgt. Steve Berezuik told reporters Sunday morning, according to CBC News.
“They are truly innocent victims,” he said. “… This is a very tragic incident.”

Canada is a VERY VIOLENT country.
“The landlord, whose name was not released, “
Hmmmmmm......
Another case of Canadians and their love for guns
Kill my tenants, Kill my tenants
C-I-L-L my tenants
The media is trying too hard to paint the tenants as victims.
There is way more to this story than meets the eye, I’ll bet.
I thought Canada had “common sense, gun control.”
Dark and lonely on a summer’s night.
Kill my tenants. Kill my tenants.
Watchdog barking. Do he bite?
Kill my tenants. Kill my tenants.
Slip in their window. Break their neck.
Then their house I start to wreck.
Got no reason. What the heck?
Kill my tenants. Kill my tenants.
C-I-L-L my tenants!
Kinda hard not to see it that way when they were shot while fleeing. What do you think might have happened as far as self defense that would constitute justification to shoot them? Also the shooter himself then shot at police. I’m genuinely curious as to what scenario could possibly answer for these things that puts the onus on the two tenants he killed.
Yes, much more had to be going on. Crazy. It says the reasons are sparse and maybe related to the condition of the house. The house looks well kept from google map pictures but who knows what it looked like with these particular tenants. That’s the risk owners take in renting out properties and renters take if the landlords ignore the upkeep. Who knows, but that’s no reason to kill them.
That’s the tipoff that the landlord was most likely non-white.
I’m not justifying or condoning the shooting. I just suspect there is far more to this story than meets the eye. There is way too much information missing.
Yep, my first thought too.
Most likely psych drugs.
I have the feeling the landlord was of a protected class.
If a landlord can’t shoot his tenants what is left? /s
I had other people trying to physically punish my tenant. Tenant was under police investigation for kidnapping a sub lessee tenants( I did not know about till cops told me) toddler and threatening to sell child to pay for the rent the sublessee couldn’t pay my tenant. Relations of sub-lessee were going after my tenant. Long time ago.
Believe me, you never know what’s going on with tenant landlord stuff.
They obviously need more gun control laws.
Aren’t guns illegal in Canada-istan?
