The marketplace of ideas can be so queer, sometimes.
I use the formal and old Merriam Webster definition. "Worthless, counterfeit, questionable, suspicious."
To use the old word, gay, in the same way, it is assured that the Anheuser-Busch management are not very gay in this moment....
It’s not a boycott. It’s a perception change.
Young men don’t want to drink what they see as a ‘Trans’ beer. They are afraid people might question their sexuality. So, they drink ‘Straight’ beer instead.
If “conservatives” would do this with Target, MLB, NFL and other corporations we could start changing this country. I have too many friends that keep trying to get back to “normal” since 2020. They think if they have the game on, have a burger and a beer, then life is “good”. I keep telling them nothing will change unless we make the change.
Michigan is a can rebate state so that is another $1.20/per case.
It's not a boycott. It's a divorce.
It was interesting to read just how bad it is for ImBev. Apparently, large brewers don’t simply go to the local grocery store to buy ingredients a week before brewing, but rather commit to huge purchases months, or even years, ahead, so as to lock-in pricing. So, whoops.
(side note: Reminds me of the Neocons and Democrats, who spent nearly all of their prior lives hating the military, and then, once in power and on their way to WW3, figured they could make a phone call to Raytheon and 3 weeks later have a dozen Patriot Air Defense Systems delivered to Ukraine...but were told 5 years instead. Life isn’t as simple as they thought...LOL!)
Not only am I never going to buy their brand again, but discovered other brands have much more flavor. Makes me suspect that Bud Light is extremely watered down.
When folks call it a ‘boycott’, that’s a serious downgrade of what it really is... it’s a rejection of the brand. A boycott is something that mostly can be easily reversed by making some change of some sort that caused the boycott in the first place. I don’t think anything can reverse what has gone here outside of a complete blowing up of the brand and reorganizing under a different name etc. and then allowing a lengthy amount of time to transpire.
I don’t personally know anyone who would be caught dead with a Blue Light in their hand unless they were pulling a Kid Rock thing.
My only surprise is how well the BUD stock price has hung in there... sure it has dropped a bunch from its peak of around $67 at the start of April but I would have guessed in mid-April that it would be under $50 by now and on its way to $40. Somebody is propping this thing up and I hope whoever that is better be prepared to take the biggest bath ever....
This one is giving Biden some competition for the title of ‘America’s Best Negative Example’.
Product rejection. The brand will never recover.
Save it...election time is coming...bonus time in the .......
A publicity stunt involving people whose gender identity differs from their biological sex is offensive to people who believe in the existence of objective truth
I can’t speak with authority but perhaps “skunky” would be an improvement...
time to do the same to
Target
Ford
North Face
(insert candidate company here)
Deceptive headline. This is not free beer. You have to pay for it then go through an involved process of applying for a rebate that may or may not come. And even if it does come, you are now on Budweiser’s list to send more mail and junk email to.
Im kind of surprised by all of this but I suppose I really shouldnt be.
Bud light drinkers always came across as a pretty faggy group to begin with, thats probably why it still doesnt make sense that there was this reaction in the first place. Now that there was though none of them can walk away as they were always the ones that wanted to be part of the crowd, that whole herd mentality, the need to be “just one of the girls”, that was part of what made them seem that way in the first place.
Inbev needs to find the right “mean girl” to influence that type back to Bud. It shouldnt take more than buying a couple of ex sports stars that these types have their bro-crushes on to lead them all back.
If Inbev actually wanted to. Im not entirely sure that they do and think that they may have had other motivations beyond pleasing banks. This may well be the first in what is to become a long string of “market effecting accidents” that occur during the final transitioning from the boomer economy to the Millennial economy.
Not even to kill slugs
$1.50 a six-pack. Pearl beer.
