The only military use for DU is defeating tank armor. That begs a question, what was the point? I haven't read anything about tank battles in country 404 so far, Russians are basically using tanks for mobile medium range artillery. And there is still the possibility of parts of Poland and Germany being poisoned.
And, whatever your opinion of hohos might be, the British should know better than to be participating in anything like this.

The DU non explosive dart moving at 4800 ft per second contacts the armor creating plasma burning through ridiculous amounts of armored metal, the plasma entering the tank Interior ignites everything, causing an explosion which spreads DU dust for up to hundreds of meters. Ask any US tanker. I worked with a few.
Those are the mechanics of a “ kinetic round”, which by the way was invented by the Germans, we used “ DM” made ammo in Gulf War 1, were licensed to manufacture the German rounds then improved upon the design. Any EOD man will tell you an intact projectile poses little threat, but when “ disturbed “, grinded, burnt, or exploded releases toxic dust.
Expended DU rounds were NOT blown by C4 ( the traditional EOD disposal method) but hauled off intact.

It takes at least several feet of concrete to stop it, depending on the distance of where it's being emitted from and blows right through the human body, obliterating cells and causing immense damage to all bodily cells as it does.

I don’t know either of you or really what side of this you all are on. I really don’t care. I don’t understand the fascination of picking sides in a war where really I hope both sides lose.
Why the hell the west is willing to add more troubles to the mega troubles we are in is beyond me. The fact is the political elites on both sides of the isle were up to no good in Ukraine, China, … and we have cheerleaders here is a testament to the ability of the elites to brainwash so many. Irregardless the elites (political and technocrats) are getting ready to kill the banking, market(capital allocation), economy, inflation, and social fabric down. I worked with a Gulf War 1 tanker, it took 15-20 years for him to be fully debilitated. The VA admitted no guilt, but granted him lifetime medical treatment and full disability payments. He no longer works.
Many Gulf War vets ( non tankers) are in the same boat- presumably by breathing in the DU dust near tank engagements. $6,000 a month disability payments and benefits is a lot of money but not when you suffer every day of your shortened life.
Here is what our VA says.
“VA has been conducting a surveillance program for Gulf War Veterans exposed to DU through “friendly fire” incidents for more than 25 years. Some Veterans enrolled in this program have ongoing DU exposure resulting from DU fragments embedded in their bodies. It is important to note that, to date, no health effects related to DU exposure have been found. Nevertheless, the potential for long-term effects remains, and this group continues to be under surveillance.”

That has been noticed, as well as the they effort taken to have no idea or fake it.

I’m glad you picked that up. Gamma ray bursts occur during black hole events. If such a burst happened pointed at Earth anywhere within our galaxy (100,000 lt/yr) it would rip the ozone layer off and cause a major extinction. You don’t mess with gamma radiation.

At the time of the gulf wars there were reports indicating that there are two kinds of DU, one dangerous, the other not so much. The Brits appear to have gone with the dangerous kind.
