Red Stallions vs the Chester Cheetos! Tennessee Titans release hilarious clip of Nashville tourists trying to guess the names of their NFL opponents... and the results are disastrous!

As part of the NFL's release of schedules across the league, the Tennessee Titans produced two videos announcing who they would be facing.

While their first one was a production chock full of cameos from former players and coaches, to WWE superstar Sheamus, to country music star Keith Urban, the second one focused on what people could not recognize.

The Titans produced a second video asking passersby on Nashville's famous Lower Broadway to guess the names of each of their opponents for the upcoming season.

A whole host of incorrect guesses from the somewhat close to the very far off led to one hilarious video.

Highlights include someone guessing the New Orleans Saints were the 'St. Louis Rams' - a team that doesn't exist anymore - as well as the Atlanta Falcons as the 'Red Stallions' and the Jacksonville Jaguars as the 'Chester Cheetos'.

Other great guesses include someone saying the Los Angeles Chargers were 'Lightning McQueen' as well as two separate people guessing that the Indianapolis Colts were the Dallas Cowboys.

The Tennessee Titans face a tough slate of non-conference opponents in the NFC including the Seattle Seahawks, Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Atlanta Falcons, and Carolina Panthers.

They also take on a strong group in the AFC as well - including the Ravens, Chargers, Bengals, and Dolphins

I dropped the NFL years ago and I could identify every one of those logos.

I do think “Boston Bobcats” is a good name.

Old story had Bud Adams, Oilers owner, fielding new names for his team for their move to Nashville.

"Look how popular those Volunteers are out of Knoxville. How when you shorten their name it rolls right off the tongue and fits easy on a bumper sticker - VOLS! We've got to make sure our new name does the same with one syllable."

"Er...boss, you know we're going with 'Titans', right?"

There was a radio show guy that would ask a dumb question of a caller and give them $100 or whatever for each correct answer.

I recall one that went something like:

“Ok - now for $100, at your house, what direction does the sun set in.”

“Oh - at MY house!? Well, um - that’s at night right?”

“Well, in the evening as it is going setting.”

“Oh - okay. It’s going down.”

“No - I mean in what direction is the sun when it goes down.”

“Oh - well, over by the porch.”

It went on and on like that. I don’t recall the gal ever did get the answer correct. It might have been a setup caller/actor, but I don’t think so.

My daughter posted something about how Wendy’s 1/3 pounder hamburger was created to compete with McDonald’s 1/4 pounder at the same price.

It failed - so many folks figured why pay the same for a smaller hamburger!

That Wendy’s story sounded too unbelievable so I looked it up.

I was wrong.

It was A&W who tried it and failed due to idiots.

Oilers spent one yr in Memphis
before settling in Nashville and the
Estate of Elvis Presley tried to get
an expansion team in Memphis that would
be called the Hound Dogs. Memphis was
also a possible destination for the
Patriots—as well as St Louis with
then team owner James Busch Orthwein
trying to bring a team to his hometown

>>The Memphis Hound Dogs were a proposed NFL team in the early-1990s. Former Memphis Showboats owner William Dunavant, Paul Tudor Jones, Fred Smith and Elvis Presley Enterprises were the members of the potential ownership group—Wikipedia

I believe your story on the One Third Pounder failing. Hanging out here on FR all the time I'm constantly jarred by having to step down my vocabulary and skip higher concepts when dealing with most people.

It didn't used to be noticeable but the last thirty years have definitely shown a vast deterioration in education levels - and it's no better with those who've attended colleges.

I think Jay Leno retired (as this was about his best bit) because he 1.Had more money than he'd ever be able to spend, and 2.No longer needed to venture out for "Jay-Walkers" when the studio audience was already full of them. Temples of Sirynx indeed.
