Bridgerton actress Adjoa Andoh left her ITV co-stars stunned yesterday when she referred to the Buckingham Palace balcony as being 'terribly white' during their live Coronation coverage.
The star, whose father was of Ghanaian origin, was commentating for the network on their programme hosted by Tom Bradby and Julie Etchingham when she said of the event: 'We have gone from the rich diversity of the Abbey to a terribly white balcony.
'I am very struck by that.
'I am also looking at those younger generations and thinking: "What are the nuances that they will inhabit when they grow?"
Ms Andoh, 60, who plays Lady Danbury in the Netflix show, left fellow pundit Myleene Klass – who was sitting next to her – appearing bewildered as she made her comments.

How about “awesomely white”? No! # ALM!
This is why education is critical and the right’s neglect of it is so appalling.
I like it!
How about a remake of Shaka Zulu with an all Asian cast?
Bridgerton is entirely fictional even the world it purports to represent. I have no time for Netflix and would cancel it in a heartbeat if my wife would let me.
Diversity, Inclusion, Equity means kill Whitey and take all his stuff.
Never doubt this.
“If you think the Royal Family is mostly white English people, you should go to Italy. That place is overrun by Italians.
And not just Italians. It’s overrun by privileged Italians. Italian supremacists!
And don’t even consider going to Spain. There are Spanish people everywhere! And they run things like they own the place.”
And in France... oh, nevermind...
Even “people of color” can be nasty and vile racist bigots.
All of these cretins that believe Bridgerton depicts reality are insane! The British people of the 1700s would have soundly rejected a black princess. The Saxe-Coburg crowd hadn’t long been on the throne at this point and would have been sent packing. Brits love to claim Americans are racist slave owners but they conveniently that the Brits brought those slaves to the US while we were still a colony.
