Most conservatives were shocked and surprised when Fox News took the Tucker Carlson program off the air last week. It was watched by 3.2 million mostly affluent viewers each night. It was the seventh most popular program on cable TV. It attracted nearly twice as many viewers as MSNBC and CNN combined. MSNBC had an audience of roughly 1.14 million viewers. CNN only had roughly 473,000.
However, Tucker Carlson’s program had been on life support since December 18, 2018. That is when “progressive” Democrats cancelled most of its sponsors.
On December 13, 2018, Tucker Carlson did a segment on the effects of massive, uncontrolled, and often illegal immigration from poor countries. Tucker showed videos of caravans of illegal immigrants coming to our borders, and of the piles of garbage they left behind. Tucker explained how this was hurting America in many ways. He criticized political leaders of both parties and business elites for ignoring the problem.
Tucker agreed that most of the immigrants themselves were “nice people”. However, he concluded:
“But as an economic matter this is insane. It’s indefensible, so no one even tries to defend it. Instead, our leaders demand that you shut up and accept this. We have a moral obligation to admit the world’s poor, they tell us, even if it makes our country poorer and dirtier and more divided.”
Everything Tucker Carlson said was true, undisputed, and reasonable. It had all been said many times by many political leaders and economic experts. In 2016, candidate Donald Trump won widespread, mainstream support by promising to fix these problems. Trump promised a border wall and strict enforcement of immigration laws. Tucker Carlson was correct to remind his viewers of how the leaders of both parties were ignoring this critical issue.

It has been mentioned several times that this is also being done to "The Clay Travis and Buck Sexton Show", the replacement for "The Rush Limbaugh Show. Buck has mentioned that they are the #1 show in many large cities, they have never gotten advertisers from restaurants, cars and many other business that heavily use radio advertising.
“In 2018, at least 26 mainstream corporate sponsors publicly announced that they would no longer sponsor the Tucker Carlson program.
Those sponsors included CareerBuilder, Takeda Pharmaceuticals (makers of Entyvio),
TD Ameritrade, IHOP, the United Explorer credit card, Just For Men, Jaguar Land Rover,
Ancestry.com, SCOTTeVEST, Zenni Optical, Voya Financial, Nautilus, Inc. for Bowflex,
SmileDirectClub, NerdWallet, Minted, Pacific Life insurance, Indeed.com,
Norwegian Cruise Lines, Red Lobster, Farmers Insurance, Lexus/Toyota,
Mint Mobile, Graze snacks, Samsung, SodaStream, Pfizer’s Robitussin and SanDisk.”

Someone said this many years ago. Television was and is an industry devoted to entertainment for the purpose of selling commercials to advertisers.
The problem for Fox is that yes, they have pleased their Leftist critics but they have pissed off their Conservative audience. So while the top advertisers may be willing to return, there is no longer nearly as big of an audience for them to advertise to.
Doomed?
Another article that’s a waste of time to read....

That’s why a company like Boeing spends so much money advertising on these news programs. There probably isn’t a single person watching Fox News who would ever be in a position to purchase something from Boeing — or would even know where to begin the process of becoming a Boeing customer.
Boeing buys ad time on Fox News — and in exchange, the company’s paid stooges (Lindsey Graham, for example) are given lots of air time to promote the company’s globalist agenda.
Brazile has worked on several campaigns for Democrat candidates:
Jesse Jackson in 1984
Walter Mondale–Geraldine Ferraro in 1984
Dick Gephardt in 1988
Michael Dukakis in 1988
Congressional Delegate Eleanor Holmes Norton (DC) 1990
Bill Clinton in 1992 and 1996
Al Gore in 2000
She was the acting chair of the Democrat National Committee twice.
She got caught feeding questions to Hillary Clinton prior to the Presidential debates in 2016
...and FOX hired her. Could the Murdochs' intentions be any clearer?
I agree. They gloat, but they gloat at the 10% of the iceberg they can see. Tucker will be just fine and if anything, he’ll be able to do more of what he wanted - not less.
It amazes me that not much is being said about Paul Ryan’s influence on Fox. As Speaker of the House during Trump’s 1st 2 years in office he stymied much of Trump’s agenda.
Hiring Donna Brazile & firing Tucker Calrson are just some of the symptoms of Fox putting RINO Paul Ryan on the board of directors in March 2019.
I watch NO TV. But I did follow Tucker via the web.
The Old Media can cease to exist. They were once called the Dinosaur Media.
That is still appropriate. But they have added Propaganda and LIES.
DemocRATS identify their enemies, target them, organize supporters, have strategy meetings, develop action plans, and ACT on them. The GOP does NONE of that. They are purely reactive. The RAT party used Covid to circumvent election laws, push mail in ballots, plant drop boxes in RAT counties, organized ballot harvesting campaigns, illegal spying on the GOP Presidential campaign, TWO impeachments!, etc, etc. They result? They won an unwinnable election. Then they won an unwinnable midterm election, etc. etc. What was the Repub reaction?? Business as usual. The next Pres election is less than 2 years away, and the Repubs have done precious little to prepare for it.
Our world and our government is corrupt. They continue the fight against the right. The right doesn’t seem up to the challenge.
BS,,,,The White House has something on Fox and they directed Fox to shut down Tucker.
Rush Limbaugh got to be a very rich guy.
I’ve generally found conservative political radio jammed packed with advertisers, so much so that I don’t normally listen to it.
It appears that he can afford to be honest enough to have gained some serious journalistic capital. Don’t spend it all in one place!
“ So while the top advertisers may be willing to return, there is no longer nearly as big of an audience for them to advertise to”
And why is that a problem for Fox?
Advertisers sign up to curry favor with the government, they pay Fox millions, Tucker can’t speak, and everyone is happy.
If you subscribe to cable or a streaming service, Fox gets their cut, even if you don’t watch.
