The Pizza Shop in Middlesbrough has had people in stitches over their sarcastic and sharp responses to unhappy customers on the popular takeaway app
A pizza joint owner left customers stunned after their snappy comebacks to unhappy Just Eat customer.
After The Pizza Shop in Middlesbrough received some bad reviews, the restaurant's boss took it into their hands to hit back at any negative comments.
The Linethorpe Road takeaway has more than 2,700 reviews, with an overwhelming amount being positive and described the shop as being "spot on" or having "great service".
However, as is often the case, opinions differed for other eaters, Teesside Live reports.
And when the shop's quality was questioned, its owner didn't follow the mantra of "the customer is always right" and hit back at multiple reviewers.
On one occasion, one customer who left a bad comment was called "Mr Owt for nowt", as well as Delia Smith or Gordon Ramsey.
In one response, the shop described how the comebacks are always "tongue in cheek" - and try to be "honest and straightforward."
One person who took issue with the pizza shop said the food was "stale and cold", despite being delivered on time and having a lovely drama.
They added the parmo dish came with only 10 chips.
In response, The Pizza Shop said: "You got your food fresh and hot. Also didn't realise we had an expert food critic who counts the chips in her food.

“Like poison...and such small portions.”
“You got your food fresh and hot.”
Seven words. But brutal?
There’ll be time enough for counting when the dealings done....
Article is very poorly written by the way.
Well, succinct and to the point.
Agreed, I clicked on the article because I thought the responses were going to be akin to the classic Wendy's Twitter 'roasts'. Whoever ran the Wendy's response team was great. I presume they've moved on - but they were very talented.
But you are right, these particular responses were pretty 'meh'...
I especially like my food “having a lovely drama.”
My favorite food drama is when the meatballs discuss with the spaghetti and Italian bread which one stole his latest girlfriend.
I went into a Middle Easterner-owned pizza place and ordered the discounted large pizza for eating there, it had no sauce, barely any cheese and I went back to the counter and he told me I bought the early bird pizza so what did I expect, I could come back later and pay the full price for the good pizza.
I thought the discounted off-hours price was to win new first-time customers and slow-hour business, but one of us was wrong about something.
If this story is true, it makes no sense. The cost of the ingredients is minimal. Why would the owner ruin his reputation by stinting on ingredients?
Sounds like this business has an anti-customer attitude. I sure wouldn’t trust their food and bet they won’t be in business much longer. What jerks.
The story is true and accurate, I spent years in restaurants and years making Pizzas as mgmt and as help.
The purpose of the afternoon discount is a form of advertising to win new customers and to have cash flow during those times, but no matter what, to always win and to keep customers for your product.
So how bad at business was this guy, I never went back although I frequently ate lunch next door to his place and had only tried his place on a whim.
It’s a pizza shop in England, what do you expect? Food in England is barely edible on the best days.
You can get excellent food in restaurants in Britain, expect to pay for it. Most pizzas are sold through kebab/pizza takeaway shops run by middle easterners. Pizza in the US has evolved. In Britain it seems to be the product of a standardized supply chain. Pizza in Cornwall is the same as pizza in Yorkshire. I have never been able to get an Italian sausage pizza in Britain. Sausage in British pizzas means either pepperoni or salami. No Italians own, manage, or run pizzerias in Britain. Restaurants yes, pizzerias no. I once wondered if the absence or Italian sausage was a religious thing as many of the staff are often Islamic. But that couldn’t be as they offered ham pizza.
I’ve travelled far and wide in Italy and pizza varies not only region to region but town to town as well. Never could get ahold of a Sicilian pie, not even in Sicily. The best pizza in Europe? Finland. Finnish pizza is similar to Chicago style with an excellent choice of fillings.
Nothing beats American pizza for quality and consistency. Yes, I know it varies, but, we’re talking about on the average. Don’t buy Mexican in Lichtenstein or Chinese in Brussels.
Most of the big pizza chains are in Europe. However, something happens in the translation. I’ve never be a fan of franchised food.
In Holland they put mayonnaise on French fries. In Britain if you order fish and chips the fish is usually superb while the chips (French fries) are from hell, soggy and greasy. Never go to any European restaurant that specialises in “American” food. It ain’t. The German idea of American corn bread is more like gypsum board. They do their own food wonderfully.
You aren’t wrong. I kostlt survived on Indian, Thai, and such.
The pizza in London was bad. But I never ventured to try Mexican there. Just don’t.
Good to know, and thank you.
I saw what you did there.
And laughed out loud.
Shop owner should order out for a sense of humor...because none of that was tongue-in-cheek or even funny. But, I get the strategy...which could work if the greatest part of your reviews are 5-star.

As a wild child hitchhiking thru Europe one summer, a group of us in Athens went to a restaurant run by a NEW YORK CITY transplant. The guy was behind the counter cooking and talking in his NYC accent! It was breakfast so we ate bacon, eggs, toast, etc. Absolutely wonderful.
One of my favorite meals while stationed in Sicily was Sicilian pizza at an AMF BOWLING ALLEY in Catania. White table cloth, good silverware, the waiter in a vest and tie. Lots of wine.
