...Ding Lieyun, a scientist at the Huazhong University of Science and Technology...helped construct an egg-shaped habitat prototype, which is made up of 3D-printed bricks made from lunar soil. Ding's team had a robot called Chinese Super Mason lay these bricks on top of each other.

The idea is to reduce the amount of material needed to be sent from Earth, while making the construction process as straightforward as possible.
According to the SCMP, Ding and his team are hoping to construct the first bricks on the surface of the Moon in just five years' time as part of the country's Chang'e-8 mission.

Watch for Musk to build a Tesla-powered bulldozer to go knock it down.
Hey, if it is as high in quality as most of their manufactured equipment, play taps for the residents of those structures.
Musk already has the boring machines which can attack it from below.
I think that building is a beautiful moon outhouse complete with large ‘occupied’ light.
What could go wrong?
Sorry folks, we can’t do space exploration. We have too many immigrants to support instead.
China has a rocket that reaches the moon with a manned payload?
We already did space exploration and found there’s nothing much out there that can justify continuing it. If China wants to build a hut on a dead, uninhabitable rock, who cares?
This is not going to happen for China in years, they don’t have a rocket which can get them there.
They’re going to have to start now with building a Rocket for that before anything else. LM-9 might make it, but they haven’t even built one yet.
I’ve been wondering if Musks tunnel boring machine would fit inside the cargo hold of a Starship.
While Biden loses us Eastern Europe and the Western Pacific we are also losing the moon.
I know we have been eyeing this same goal, but I think the are ahead of us.
nanu nanu
But we're supposedly returning to the moon in a few years, to put the first woman of color on the moon. Only after that vital milestone will we stop spending money on space exploration.
Agreed. Everyone else can learn from their mistakes and things that work.
Elon Musk has a rocket which carries that payloadsize necessary for this kind of thing already on the launchpad waiting for a first orbital test flight.
China is still in the drawing room working on a rocket which might work to accomplish this.
That is where things are at this time
The Chinese must not be very smart if they are serious about that.
Yep
