Any ideas, suggestion?!
New Orleans Sandwich Company and Sugarlands are a must. The aquarium is nice as well.
DO: Visit the Salt And Pepper Shaker Museum!!
DO: Go to www.roadsideamerica.com for a listing of every knick-knack attraction on the way. DO: Visit The Doughnut Friar!!! OMGosh! DON’T: go on “the Earthquake Ride.”
Screw that joint. I would never go back there. GMC(SW), USN, Ret.
If you set your food outside you may well have a bear eat it all
OH MY GOSH! Do the Moonshine tasting!! Been a while, but I want to say...$20 for ten shots of various types of flavored moonshine, served up by tenders with a line of patter like a Vegas croupier.
Don’t miss either the Comedy Barn or the Hatfield vs. McCoy’s comedy club (dinner show). Like the old Hee-Haw TV show — great family entertainment with a southern Hillbilly flair.
Dollywood is excellent. Check the dates, not open year-round.
Knife Works is highly recommended — largest knife selection anywhere (and lots of guns too). You can get lost in the place.
The Island in Pigeon Forge is a completely self-contained entertainment area with shops and a giant wheel ride, restaurants, etc., and its own free parking area for visitors.
If you bring an RV be sure to book ahead of time, but if they’re all booked go to nearby Townsend.
Nope
I met someone who handled her horses at Dollywood. Great stories.
Bears can’t reach the outside private balconies. Not even the best climbers can make it up the stone walls. Now... if you set it outside by the front door, that’s another story. In fact, there are videos floating around out there of the bears walking the front poarch areas.
We’ve enjoyed this place. There used to be a forger on site.

The pancake houses are good.
Not sure if it’s still open but the Chimney Top trail had a view at the top that blew my mind. It’s a rather strenuous climb, especially the last couple hundred feet to get to the top.
I’ve had the best luck seeing bears on the short trail right near the visitor center. This is a real easy hike and used to be paved for strollers/wheelchairs. Very busy trail but have seen bears on this trail on two separate trips.
Lastly, if you like Putt Putt, I loved Hillbilly Golf in Gatlinburg.
Have fun!
Stay downtown. Everything is walkable.
**Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge are the most awful tourist traps ever.**
Right about that. One visit there 10 years ago this fall was more than enough. The SMN Park and mountains are beautiful.
Fake IDs?
We stayed at the doubletree last time. Awesome views and free cookies at the front desk. Didn’t see any bears that time.
I’m also not quite certain about actually still being there. Tmi recall seeing videos of it burning.
Yep. It burned but appears to be open. That was a crazy fire.

It’s good timing for a cabin. I’d hike chimney rock if you’re active; go up the ropeway to the glass walkway if you’re not.
ARK Encounter...
Try not to be there on a weekend; gets pretty crowded and you can’t see/read much of the exhibits.
Knock yourself out if you want to be with 5 milion northeast pukes looking for temporary autumn refuge from their hell holes.
