It’s no secret anymore. Nearly everything you do online is tracked or recorded and used to learn more about you.
Many of your data points ends up on creepy people search sites. You’ll be shocked to find your full name, address, relatives, phone number, and more. Here’s a list of sites where you can opt out of this invasion of privacy.
On your phone, apps are likely watching — and reporting — more than you realize. Take back control with just a few minutes in your settings.
Navigation apps use your phone’s GPS location to determine exactly where you are. Every time you navigate somewhere, that location is stored in your profile. Prepared to be shocked at what Apple and Google know about your wanderings. Google saves where you have been
You probably expect that your maps app is keeping track, but have you ever looked back to see all this tracking in action?
If you’ve used Google Maps for years, there’s probably a startling amount of info about everywhere you’ve gone. Check it out:
When signed in, click on your profile picture, then select Manage your Google Account. Or go to your Google Account page. On the left, click on Data & privacy. Under “History Settings,” click on Location History. At the bottom, click Manage history.
You’ll see a map with details like your saved home, work locations, and trips. You can search by year or down to a specific day in the Timeline box in the top left corner.
Pick a date from a couple of years ago just for fun. You’ll see a blue bar if a trip was recorded. Click a day to see everywhere you went, down to the time and mileage. If your photos are synced to your account, you

I could not care less if they track me. I buy nothing from them.
I don’t ( knowingly ) have a Google account. I think I used Google once, to compare search results with Bing.
Later.
Oh noes!! Now I owe Sting for the rest of my life for this small infraction. It is more than I can bear. I’ll become a refugee and come over the border under an alias. get on government hosing/food and live happily ever after.
Quite possible if you know exactly what needs to be yanked. A lot of the telematics crap is in the head unit(least on Mopar)
Doesn’t matter if the antenna is there if it doesn’t know how to phone home.
“They can’t know your location if they can’t get a signal.”
But can you get or make a call?
Can I root it?
I get popup ads on my PC all the time. I just ignore them. I do not let it bother me. I do not have to buy it just because an ad popped in my face.
Of course that is how Google makes money by selling your habits to advertisers. I see ads all over the roads and towns. And I get junk mail galore. All of that is just minor annoyance. I just toss it all in garbage. Why be paranoid because Google is tracking me on use of internet?
Driving cross-country last year.
Got Google maps up on the phone, phone sitting in the center console.
Wife starts singing pieces of a song. Phone says “One moment please”.
Had to explain it to her. She gave me “The Look”.
One would have to be naive not to realize smart phones and internet snoop all the time. Contrary to popular belief, privacy is not a right. You must be born in a cave and be a hermit to earn your privacy, and it won’t be much of a life.

They could track peaceful people going to the Capital building yet somehow cannot track any of the movements of the democrat party terrorists burning down many parts of cities across the nation nor the FBI agents at the Capital committing the damage. The FBI could use facial recognition as well but somehow do not do so....
Yes, but I don’t murder people.
DDG is compromised, Brave Search is my default on my desktop.

They have some nice ones in-store at Costco right now for a good price.
Agreed, but you can reduce what they get. See my prior post on deGoogling.
