Can't believe in this day that ABC, would run this.
Great movie.

Flipping back, and forth between that, and the game.
Actually had a cousin remind me it was on.

My favorite line- Edward G. Robinson in his Chicago gangster voice: “Nyah, where’s your God now, Moses?

Great that this movie still gets shown as an annual tradition

Surprised at this
I’ve seen it dozens of times. Started it hundreds of times
I used to slap that in the DVD player when I was trying to go to sleep. I’d be nighty night before Rameses declared Moses to be an “insurrectionist”

Shoot, I missed it. How does one get ABC without cable?

This flick is pretty much the only thing on ABC air worth watching.

The video version of that movie contains a very good intro:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SAazflOyiFw
by Cecil B. Demille which starts at the 1:50 mark until about 3:52
“...are men property of the state or are they free souls to be ruled by God...”
Is that part shown on TV?

And that scene where Rameses and Nefretiri sit dejectedly on their thrones, and Rameses says..
“His God...is God”.

It is a great movie. Not only in it’s theme but in the cinematography, the color, the costuming and acting are superb.

ITS NOT AN EASTER MOVIE.
In case no one realized, it’s not at all about Jesus, and if anything, it is somewhat about Passover.
BEN-HUR is the “Easter” movie.
Great movie, sure, but this is a major pet peeve of mine for ages. Why doesn’t Ben-Hur get this respect of being the “Easter event”? It is a better quality movie, too. (Most Oscars ever won, to wit.)

Surprised the left hasn’t remade this with a black Moses and a bunch of gay and trans people scattered throughout.
