Weebles will love this.
Yamaha has new technology that allows a two-wheel motorcycle to balance itself.
The Advanced Motorcycle Stability Assist System (AMSAS) is being developed to assist riders at low speeds. It incorporates actuators attached to the front wheel and handlebars that can make adjustments to keep the bike upright.

In a high speed corner, the rider leans the bike into the turn, countersteering all the way. But, does this technology try to correct for the lean? Cause, that could be bad.

Having been a victim of “stability control” & “traction control” forcibly idling my engine, not allowing me to recover control on frozen snow, I can foresee this erroneously kicking in at highway speeds...say on the Dragon’s Tail.
Yup, he was upright all the way down, until he hit that tree...

Learning how to control the bike at low speeds will make you a better high speed rider. If you don’t develop low speed skills you put yourself in greater danger in real traffic situations.
Yeah, the technology is impressive, but it is possible to do too much for the rider. The less you have to think....the less you think.

I’m just not sure that their ‘stability system’ (training wheels) on my Harley would look very cool. Probably would have to grow old alone.

The Advanced Motorcycle Stability Assist System (AMSAS) is being developed to assist riders at low speeds. What a load of cow flop. If a motorcyclist has trouble at low speeds, it's a real good idea they use a car instead.

You’ve got to love the E-Stop mushroom head pushbutton on the tail section. “Just chase it down!”
