Oh look, another scientific discovery that shows the Bible was right all along
Not The Bee ^ | John Knox · · Mar 30, 2023

One of the core arguments against the historicity of the Bible and the flood account in Genesis by scientists has been that a global flood is impossible because there simply is not enough water on earth to flood the entire thing.

This despite the fact that there is evidence accepted from secular scientists that there was clearly a global cataclysm at some point in earth's recent history.

But where did the water come from?

In Genesis chapter 7, this is what the Bible says:

In the six hundredth year of Noah's life, in the second month, on the seventeenth day of the month, on that day all the fountains of the great deep burst forth, and the windows of the heavens were opened.

All the fountains of the great deep burst forth.

What could that be referring to?

Well, here's a story for ya:

It's going viral because of none other than Joe Rogan, who couldn't sleep last night after discovering this:

🤣 🤣 🤣

I have to point out that this discovery was made in 2014, but the article is from this week because, well, most of you didn't know this.

That's why you're reading this, right? Sadly, these things don't usually make it outside certain circles because they usually only appeal to ultranerds or theology geeks (usually one and the same).

But here's the deets: A massive ocean, with more water than the entire surface of the earth, has been found deep inside the earth's crust close to the core.

AKA, the fountains of the deep.

There's a layer of earth called "ringwoodite" that has this type of rock that is holding tons of H20, but it's not in a solid, liquid, or gas form. It's some 4th molecular form trapped in the rock.

"The ringwoodite is like a sponge, soaking up water, there is something very special about the crystal structure of ringwoodite that allows it to attract hydrogen and trap water," said geophysicist Steve Jacobsen, who was part of the monumental discovery.

"This mineral can contain a lot of water under conditions of the deep mantle."

The water exists.

Don't let them tell you there's not enough water for a global flood.

It's important to note that Creationist scientists have been arguing this for decades. Consider this 2001 article from the Institute for Creation Research, or this one from 2018.

Consider the work of Dr. Walt Brown, an MIT grad with a PhD in mechanical engineering, who explained the decades ago that highly pressurized water from the earth's crust could have shot up into the atmosphere before falling in frozen sheets – and that this frozen deluge would explain why so many prehistoric animals like mammoths were frozen instantly with green grass in their stomachs (grass takes mere seconds to turn brown in the acid of an elephant's stomach).

Even the climate-change apocalypse movie "Day After Tomorrow" acknowledged this reality.

Here's more about the fountains of the deep in Genesis 8:

The fountains of the deep and the windows of the heavens were closed, the rain from the heavens was restrained

The Biblical flood account includes water from the sky and water buried deep beneath the ground.

The Bible documents that the water came from the fountains of the deep, and that's exactly what this discovery looks like.

Research has found that ringwoodite can contain up to 1.5 percent water.

If the ringwoodite under the surface has just 1 percent water in its molecular build-up, it would mean that it holds three times more water than all of the oceans on the Earth's surface.

THREE TIMES more water than the oceans! Earth is already 70% covered in water, now multiply that by at least three times.

The heavens declare the glory of God.

Maybe don't count those kooky Christians out quite yet!

Of interest to me, even though I understand it not as a global flood but rather, as Peter described it, a flood covering the world of that time—that is, to the limited extent humans had spread out after their ejection from Eden.

The Bible's veracity does not hinge on the question of a global flood, only a certain exegesis.

True that sentiment, but slight disagreement on the meaning of the word "exegesis". Perhaps you meant "eisegesis" instead. IMHO a truly exegesis reading (objective) of the Genesis text leaves open the possibility of the flood being a large region, not necessarily global.

I'm not saying the flood WASN'T global. I'm just saying the Bible text itself doesn't demand that interpretation. The Hebrew word "adamah" for the English world "earth" or "world" also has other literal definitions like "plot of land" or "region". The fact that the animals fit inside the ark suggests this. Another possibility: the flood was regional but wiped out mankind over all of the earth if it was done at a point in history before mankind had spread out from the Fertile Crescent. (Basically if everybody lived in one region then a regional flood would do the trick of wiping out man from the planet.)

Another possibility: God flooded the entire planet in such a supernatural way that we'll never find evidence telling us exactly how He did it. I tend not to lean that way on events in the Bible unless the Bible text itself describes it as miraculous. But it's possible God did it like that.

How could anyone miss the words “…and the fountains of the great deep opened up…’? I latched on to them when I was nine yrs old sitting in church listening to the priest. It wasn’t rain or just rain. It was it right there.

Wow! What kind of motor do you need to pump that up? What’s the gallons per minute?

A. the Flood was more than one and it was caused by the rapid melting of the ice caps as sea level rose some 400 feet everywhere.

B. The water in this second appearance of this non-story on FR is locked up in rocks and not a free flowing ocean.

C. Keep your knickers on and calm down.

The “Noah” movie with Russell Crowe is hands down the worst movie I have ever seen. It actually takes up the first 10 slots on the worst movie list. It sucked so bad that I am surprised it didn’t swallow the entire known universe.

It’s good that the topic came up again. It’s not like something earth-shattering such as whatever President Trump did that he didn’t do, because that stuff is covered 24/7/365.

This info falls off the map, so I appreciate new articles.

Another layer is metaphorical: fountains of the deep bursting to the surface: fonts of knowledge, a flood of evidence.

Or like an established system that is so corrupt that the world is drowning in a sea of red tape — I’d think that those who benefit would be overjoyed to find themselves in a 40-day and 40-night pool party of their own making.

Surf’s up! 😎🌊🌊🌊🌊🌊

The Left lately doesn’t like the Bible because God made only two sexes, male and female. They can’t seem to stand that.
