The hero cops who stopped a transgender school shooter in Nashville are a Marine Corps veteran and an award-winning officer.
Michael Collazo, 31, and Rex Engelbert, 27, of the Nashville Metro Police, have been hailed heroes after taking down Audrey Hale, 28, on Monday after she had shot and killed six at The Covenant School.
Hale opened fire inside the small, church-run private elementary school on the outskirts of the city shortly before 10.13am. Dramatic bodycam footage showed Englebert and Collazo shooting her dead by 10.27am.
Collazo is a Marine Corps veteran who responded to the Christmas 2020 bombing, which also took place in Nashville, where Anthony Quinn Warner detonated a bomb downtown, killing himself and injuring eight others.
Collazo, a nine-year veteran of the force, is also a former firefighter and has previously served as a SWAT team paramedic. He has a young daughter, according to Fox News.
The Nashville native had joined the Marine Corps directly out of high school and is said to have relied on his military training throughout the active shooter situation, his older sister Deanna Collazo DeHart told Fox News.
'He really does love his job. When I sit and think about all the training and all the different classes that he does, and all the family events that he's had to miss because of training or leaving to go through this training or this class… it all really does pay off,' she said.
'[He's] obviously very brave, braver than I've ever imagined,' she said. 'To see the bravery of all of them just storming and clearing the rooms is absolutely phenomenal.'

Both cops looked older & more “beefy” in the bodycam footage. I’m guessing the pics released to the media were file photos from when they were newly hired.

We need to have full and close up footage of these events. Sorry, but I have my doubts. This entire thing stinks. I don’t trust any part of the government, and we all have good reason for that. We are force fed a man dying of an overdose, and told the Police murdered him. The evidence of crimes that push the narrative of our communo/fascist enemies are served in Nashville behind a veil. Yet we have to take the word of those who lie about EVERY thing as proof of an evil act. No matter where I live, I am from the SHOW ME state of mind.
We see worse in movies, and the guy stabbed in Vancouver recently, THAT is what death looks like. Not the sanitized views of a few gunshots, and no holes or blood. We the People must KNOW the truth, not just be pressured to believe it..... BECAUSE CBSNBCABCCNNFOX said it is so.
Necessary to our freedoms to see. Show people who think about these acts, what reality looks like. In drivers Ed they showed films of wrecks.

I’m with you. Show us the holes in the walls, and the body without worrying about offending parents. Human beings exist in our memories, not in pictures. Not for excitement, but it will help others who are thinking it is a game, and prove that events are real.

Huh? How did I miss this story?
The fact that I missed it and, CNN says Quinn "…was a loner with no significant criminal record and as yet no signs of a political ideology." makes me suspicious.
The police in CA have earned their status as enemies of the general public very well.
Sadly true. They don't care though. They have zero accountabiltiy and are VERY well paid for HS grads.
