That wasn't even the first iteration of Pepsi Light, which had half the sugar, not just one calorie.

Back in the day, growing up in Ontario, we used to joke that a balanced meal in Quebec was ‘a Pepsi and a Jos. Louis’.

A Jos. Louis is very similar to a Mae West, except chocolate cake instead of white cake. It is manufactured by the Vachon company, of Quebec. For decades, Pepsi out sold Coke in Quebec only. In fact, we used to call French-Canadians, especially Quebecois, ‘Pepsis’ and ‘pea soupers’, when not calling them simply ‘frogs’.

Diet Coke is the King of sodas? No accounting for taste I guess. Since it was first put on the market, I had taken a sip of it & of it & decided that it was about the nastiest soft drink that ever passed my lips. I doubt I’m the only person who feels this way, but would be interested in seeing an honest survey as to who likes it versus who hates it.

The first version of Diet Coke was saccharin based. It got a LOT more popular when they added Aspartame. It had both for a while. Then Diet Pepsi and Diet Squirt went Aspartame only, and Diet Coke went to straight Aspartame (except in fountain syrups).

You should be able to find Mexican Pepsi in Texas. That should have real sugar. I thought one of the Dr. Pepper bottlers in Texas never went to HCFS. I made sure to have a Dr. Pepper when driving through El Paso to test the claim that the Dr. Pepper in TX is different and better. It had more of a vanilla taste to me.

Pepsi is introducing a new logo

and paying the MSM to talk about it. Saw it on the local news last night along with another story about product. Then they went to commercial.

Slapshot is an all-time great movie. My first car was very similar to what Newman drove. And yet Root Beer is my favorite soda. :-)

C’mon man, they clearly used a different font in the ‘70s.

All Pepsi has done is revert BACK to their previous logo (rather than admit their current one is a LOSER). They are hyping it as NEW because the buying public at large ISN’T OLD ENOUGH TO KNOW THEY ARE LYING.. All a publicity stunt.

Pepsi truthful. Honest. It was a different font in the 70s and was not bold like current somewhat-woke Pepsi. Buy Pepsi. Be boldly semi-retro.

After promoting Dublin Dr Pepper and promoting it , Corporate changed their mind and decided to run the bottler out of business. They engaged in lawfare against them for selling out of their franchise area (which Corporate had promoted, as I said) and buried the small business in legal fees. The bottler finally threw in the towel and surrendered the franchise. Corporate then started selling Dr Pepper with real sugar (overpriced bottles and fairly priced 2 liter when you can find it in stores). I don’t think it’s as good as the Dublin product, but I buy it despite considering Dr Pepper management to be immoral low life scum, and their counsel to be of questionable ethics for abusing the legal system.

It’s Mexican Coke, and it is widely available (if overpriced) in Texas. The Pepsi with sugar is locally produced, but again they shrank the cans and jacked up the price. For a while Pepsi was offering some other products with sugar, but they dropped those pretty quickly.

Here in Arizona, both Mexican Coke AND Pepsi are widely available, as well as Mexican Fanta Orange and Mexican Fresca (with sugar, making it more like Squirt or Canada Dry Wink). All in wonderful heavy glass bottles.
