Climb a tree if one’s available.
Run zigzag....alligators can’t, and can’t run for long distances either.
If all else fails .45........because they don’t make a .46

You cut to the left or to the right and continue running in a zig-zag pattern. Gators are so low to the ground and their legs are so short when they are on land they walk/run in straight lines.

Meh. Pretty common in FLA. If there’s water, there could be gators. Lakes, streams, ocean inlets, swimming pools, hot tubs.

A friend posted this on her FB page this morning. It is a couple miles from their condo in Naples.

Its more common than you think. I’m from FL originally and you never jump into a swimming pool without taking a look first. š

Looking at Google earth, this area appears to be located next to marshland and “parkland” which would appear suited for many alligators.

How does anyone in Florida allow their young children to play outside? Does everyone fence in their yards with 12ft high chain link fence?

Pretty sure that what’s jaw dropping to those at the Post is just another day in Florida to Floridians.
