The recognition honors Kaiser Permanente for demonstrating business integrity through best-in-class ethics, compliance, and governance practices.
OAKLAND, Calif., March 15, 2023 /PRNewswire/ -- Kaiser Permanente is again one of the World's Most Ethical Companies, according to Ethisphere, an independent group that monitors business ethics

There’s a lot of people unhappy with Kaiser. There’d be more, but Kaiser ‘care’ killed them - you can Google for incidents that were egregiously bad, but somehow Kaiser investigated themselves and found no wrongdoing...
I have Kaiser and have had no problems with it. In WA state, the reality is there is no more private practices. They have been swallowed up by the Franciscans, UW, Multicare etc.Every doctor you see is now an employee of a corporation.
In the old days, doctors who were not so good gravitated to Kaiser. Now, since everyone is an employee, you have good and bad doctors in every corporate owned healthcare company.
They say about 56% of physicians in the country are now corporate employed. That number is only going to increase in the next five years.
Up here in the PRO (Peoples’ Republic of Oregon), Kaiser is available in some counties, but not all. My brother-in-law and his wife love Kaiser so much that they started using their son’s mailing address when they moved to a county that didn’t use Kaiser.
I find it really funny to see that the categories to be used to evaluate the recognition of this award have nothing to do with their success as a business. It’s like giving a sports team the championship because they showed up on time in clean uniforms. Can they play...who knows?

And FJB is one of the world's most ethical usurper dictators.
Exactly what others who have Kaiser have experienced. You need a secondary insurance to Kaiser. They’re fine for normal everyday care, but once you need serious specialized surgery or have a catastrophic illness requiring hospital care at a specialized hospital/facility like your husband, you’re screwed if all you have is Kaiser.
I have a sibling who worked for a Cal state institution for most of her working life. When she was there they had a choice of which health plan they wanted their state contribution to pay into, and the Kaiser HMO plan was one of them. She chose Kaiser. She has always been disappointed and all her peers she still talks to have all been happy with the othe choices they made. She gets very little prevntive care, has not had an annual physical or cardio fitness exam in years and getting referrals to specialties is like pulling teeth. She hates it but having passed into retirement without changing her choice, which she had the opportunity to do about 15 years before retirement, she’s stuck in Kaiser.
“Companies that receive the World’s Most Ethical Company designation work to improve their communities. They also foster and grow empowered employees while modeling a workplace where ethics and a strong sense of purpose lead the way.”
I think that is B.S. They get the “awards” for the woke NGOs and charities they donate to.
My brother lived out there in Sacramento, and they really convinced him when he retired that Kaiser was the best. He paid for it with his life. They refused to let him go to Mayo for some decent help. I’m still furious.
Kaiser was picked to lead the masking mandate for non-patients for CoVID. They didn’t report that no studies support masks for suppressing colds or flu. That’s how ethical they are.
Georgia has not been known as a purple state until the big cheat happened and Kaiser Permanente has been here for decades.
We have many opinions here for an issue involving a thumbs up or down answer.
As I see it Kaiser is not obligated to keep me alive at all costs. I’m sure the left would like us all to die suddenly 6 months earlier than our expiration date which is never predictable. It’s much cheaper that way.
Kaiser diagnoses is not known to be good but their treatment has higher regard. Is Medicare reimbursement their motive?
Once we reach 70 y/o we will not be in danger of dying young. Time is on the side of assisted death due to government overreach in all areas. Families are of less consequence these days. By then I’ll be ready to go. Others should pay after a lifetime of earning. Sounds impersonal but too many conditions are behavior preventable that the taxpayer should not subsidize.
So in closing let me just say KAISER SUCKS!
Two years ago my wife had a kidney stone. The ER doctor wanted to send her home with pain meds to “try” to pass it on her own. I told them I wanted her admitted so she could pass the stone with proper pain management. They asked me if we had Kaiser insurance. I told them we had Blue Cross and they admitted her right away. Then about 2 hours later her stone was removed by a surgeon. I had an ER copy of $175 and a surgeon copay of $200. BC paid everything else.
My mother has Kaiser in California. They fired anyone who wouldn’t take the jab. That tells me they are actually government owned.
I’d try to pass the stone if there’s a chance of avoiding the knife.
I don’t think you meant this for me, but I’d want some strong drugs if I’m avoiding surgery. ;)
As long as you like the one-size-fits-all, communist approach to diagnosis and are fully compliant with taking the clot shot. Otherwise, and if you are locked in for a year because of Medicare, life will be scary if something happens and your KP doctor has your life in zir hands. Better hope you can find one whose first language is English.
Totally agree. Have had to fight to get tests that were common sense and routine according to my former provider (who left Maryland due to Maryland's insurance regs not meeting their standards of care). When the enrollement period comes around this fall, I'm looking for something else.
