The analogy with the present crisis in Ukraine and the story of the Chinese Tangut kingdom
Well, but....Russia invaded Ukraine.
Mirror-world. How did this mental malfunction leak into ours?
Putin tried everything he could think of to prevent this conflict. Ultimately he was left with no other way to protect Russia.
Oh, here comes the crowd telling you Russia HAD to invade Ukraine. They had no choice, because NATO is a danger to the world and invades countries ALL the time.
It’s the same mentality as “we HAD to lock the country down” to save it, or you HAVE to take the safe and effective vaccine to keep others safe, etc., etc.
“They had no choice, because NATO is a danger to the world and invades countries ALL the time.”
No, they only attack countries they don’t like, including Serbia, Libya, Syria, Kosovo...
Russia had NOTHING to worry about, as the Neocons just LOVE Russia.
Exactly like Hitler had no choice but to take the Sudetenland in order to prevent that other conflict, ja? Or da?
The response has been done before. Think PLO, IRA, Puerto Rican Nationalists. Then there’s South Africa under apartheid.
That's a fact. My own favorite was nato bombing a totally innocent Christian nation (they hate Christians) for eighty days and nights including Easter sunday to take that Juanita Broaddrick rape allegation against SlicKKK KKKlintler and Chinagate off the front pages of our newspapers.
Bad Analogy in many respects.
Ghengis khan was novel, brilliant, and revolutionary at war.. He was innovative in his tactics and training. Truly brilliant in that respect, perhaps better collectively than Alexander. He probably wouldn’t have taken a year to conquer Ukraine.
Temujin used terror as a weapon, used it to gather allies and followers, and spared and learned from those who had skills. The Russians appear to rape, murder, and destroy indiscriminately, not really a good comparison.
Frankly, Temujin wouldn’t have cared about the poor average farmers, working people, on the battlefield, and neither do the Russians, so that is a similarity.
The passage of information, the actual videos, that wasn’t present in Temujin’s time. That impression, that you’re doing good and saving the world with the bloodshed you’re creating is an important weapon. Also, that the conflict you’re fighting justifies the damage at home, both personally and economically. Temujin would have had an answer. What is Putin’s?
They were talking about putting nato weapons right on the border with Russia.
Once more, with feeling:
It isn't about conquering the Ukraine.
It's about destroying the Ukrainian army, ala Clausewitz.
See Mariupol and Bakhmut.
More like when Hitler and Stalin sent their armies to invade Poland in 1939. Poland lost two million murdered to these thug dictators. Russia attacking Poland from the east, murdered all of the captured Polish prisoners of war including over 5 thousand of Polish officers slain in the Katin Forest, buried in a mass grave.
The Nazis attacking from the East terror bombed Warsaw and later set up death camps in Poland that murdered millions.
All this was justified according to the Putin toadies who say that Putin is justified in invading Ukraine because like Hitler and Stalin, he felt that a small neighboring country was a threat that must be eliminated.
It’s been here for a long while.
Just another chapter of useful idiots/Russian assets poisoning our nation. The exact same vermin that decried the ‘persecution’ of the Rosenbergs, slimed McCarthy, and argued that ‘Uncle Joe’ Stalin just wanted peace.
They’ve been playing us since Lenin convinced Armand Hammer the Revolution was the future and they’ll be doing it as long as there is a Russian left alive and a traitor in America who believes their lies.
Yes. Correct.
Just like we invaded....
-Vietnam
-Iraq
-Afghanistan
-Serbia/Kosovo
-Lybia
-Granada
-Panama
-Cuba
-Sent US fleet to stop ruskies in international waters (Cuban Missle Crises 1961)
You get the picture.
You are really trying to get extra credit points today, huh?
LOL! Bazinga!
