The three swept items, worth over $5,000, off the shelves into bags before fleeing the store in a gray 2018 Kia Optima, Katris said.

Officers spotted the vehicle traveling at a high rate of speed.

The Kia ran a red light at Route 60 and Hawthorn Hills Square and officers terminated the chase, Katris said...

The Kia left the roadway on the southeast corner of the intersection and drove into a wooden fence.

...The third retail theft suspect, a female, who was the front seat passenger of the Kia, was impaled by a wooden fence post.

Officers performed first aid and used an automated external defibrillator on the woman, who was unresponsive.

They ran off with $5K of stuff maybe half resellable?

They will not collect anything near retail and it is to be a three-way split, does the driver get a larger share? Extra for the impalement?

A few hundred each?

Seeing it more and more, Chicago criminals heading to far flung suburbs to Burn, Loot, and Murder. What they are forgetting though is those collar counties aren’t as soft on crime as Crook County is.

All three of these people have prior criminal histories.

How much crime is committed by career criminals? How much could crime be reduced , if the career criminals were taken off the streets , and spent more time Behind Bars?

Nice to see that the fence post was not as stupid as previously thought.

There are so many shocking and unexpected aspects to this story...
Vernon Hills police officers arrived on the scene and Terrell disobeyed commands to exit the vehicle and tried pressing the gas pedal
Absolutely SHOCKING they would disobey a police command. Hard to believe, actually. Now, even MORE shocking...
All three suspects have prior convictions for thefts...Lake County Judge Theodore Potkonjak read off lengthy criminal histories for both Terrell and Williams during a bond hearing
Now for the most shocking, most unexpected, most bewildering thing of all...

Soros helping elect progressive District Attorneys has a lot to do with the increased crime. Low or no bail policies, and electronic monitoring programs instituted by these District Attorneys are keeping the criminals on the street to reoffend.

Third felony should get a suspension.

No wonder cities are suing Kia for the ease in stealing their vehicles. Just look at the harm it is causing!

If major cities would imprison the top 200 repeat criminals that roam their streets robbing, stealing, and assaulting people, knowing that they are “untouchable”, the crime rates would decrease dramatically.

Instead, judges release them for “monitored” release which actually means “just carry on with your actions”. Things are going to get a lot worse and who knows if they will ever get better.

It’s about the quick sale. That 1/3 the price that they will get for their stolen goods is enough for their drugs for one or two days.

Well there shouldn’t be any “repeat offenders”. It should be “one and done” for felony offenders. No bail. Rot in jail until the trial. If guilty maximum sentence, no parole.
