If she held public office or worked in some other capacity that held the public trust, it could be a bribe.

However, the moment, Lake is not a public official or in any way employed in a manner that is in the public trust.

She says that someone offered her something of value if she did not seek pubic office.

That is not a bribe and is not against the law.
