A job offer is not a bribe...I think she twisted the occasion to fit her agenda. She is after all...a journalist...and not much more. Surely not even close to VP material.

You’re incorrect. A bribe doesn’t have to be cold cash. It can also be a job offer. A bribe is anything of value.

If you’re trying to be the person you have chosen as your moniker on Free Republic, at least learn to spell it correctly. It’s Sacagewea.

As for you defaming of Kari Lake as a journalist, who exactly what are you?

I would guess you’re a paid shill for The Left.

So perhaps you should change your moniker to Elizabeth Warren, since you too are a Fake Indian.

Kari would mop the floor with Kamala. Or Tim Keane. Or Mike Pence, for that matter or Paul Ryan, or the purely evil and insane Dick Cheney or his daughter. Or any other Vice President from the 21st century.

So someone made her a job offer?

Who made her a job offer?

What was the job?

Why did it have to be conditional upon her staying out of politics?

Offering someone a job is a “quid”.

Nothing wrong or illegal about that.

But when that offer comes with a condition, that the person must refrain from presuming some future opportunity, or something like that, then that is the “pro quo”.

This for that.

And it is right in there that the ernest offer of an employment opportunity becomes a bribe.

Were the offer an unconditional one, with no requirement that she reject any future political opportunity or appointment, then there would be no way to characterize it as a bribe.

But when it is a this-for-that, quid pro quo, it does become a bribe. But, as she is simply a public figure and not a public office holder, it is indeed questionable as to whether there is any illegality involved.

I think she twisted the occasion to fit her agenda.

Well, she is at CPAC, amongst a crowd who enjoy nothing more that a juicy conspiracy theory.

Play to the crowd. Sing the songs they came to hear.

Such a “job offer” doesn’t have to be made in person.

You may have gotten over your head with this post.
