Air Mobility Command has directed its refueling and cargo planes to obscure the majority of identifying information painted on the aircraft, citing national security concerns -- an unusual move that is alarming to government watchdogs.
Air Mobility Command did not disclose other details in its statement, such as how many markings would be hidden on its planes and which ones it will apply to.

If it has no tail markings and no numbers, you know what organization it belongs to.
Sometimes hiding things like this makes it more obvious.
The left does not like the fact that the military is more respected than ANY other government entity. However, now that the wokeness excrement (complete with flies) has descended upon the miltiary, feareth not - it will become as loathed as is congress/FBI/CIA/IRS/DOJ and the rest of the collection of those who abandoned morality years ago.

Gosh. I hope we’re not directly intervening in Ukrainian airspace. With, you know, plausible deniability because, hey, Russia couldn’t give us the ID info on the plane they claim to have seen, so I guess it didn’t happen.
Air Mobility Command played a major role in the Afghanistan evacuation in 2021 and continues to help deliver weapons and aid to Ukraine in its fight against Russia.
Thus the “transparency” issue?
Sure.
Don’t want the enemy and hostile people to know who you are and what you’re doing and where you’re doing it.
But, if that’s the plan, why not hide anything that identifies everybody that is in the military, like no tags or markings on uniforms. No markings on tanks and armored vehicles. No markings on fighter jets and bombers. No markings on missiles as they find their way to the enemies.
Make rifles and guns look like water toys.
Heck, get rid of the uniforms and dress everybody in business suits and dresses and skirts.
Don’t want to offend anyone, so, why even have a military?
Wokeness demands that we not be offensive in any way whatsoever.
The civilian government in Washington DC controls the military. This isn’t being done on military say so alone.
Anybody who hasn’t been in a coma for the last 3 years ought to be rather skeptical here.
This indicates to me that the USAF and DOD believe that people in the service are feeding information to Russia on the movements of our aircraft.
Those people would be called traitors and I do sincerely hope they get rooted out, prosecuted, and executed.
Occam's Razor. Plane spotters do this all the time. There are hundreds of plane-spotting websites out there to exploit if the enemy wanted to do so.

Reminds me of the non-descript CIA C-130s parked at Clark AFB, Philippines, shortly after the Vietnam war ended.

Flying out of Guam and Thailand it was widely believed that the NVA knew when B-52s were loaded and when they departed for an Arc Light operation. At the time it was thought to be Russian spies.
On the ground, it was one of the few things where operational security was taken seriously.
Military aircraft also use civilian airports. Lots of plane spotters there.
Sometimes hiding ID numbers raises the question of what activity are they undertaking 🧐

Some units do wear sterile uniforms when in action.

On my end sometimes you could see a glint of reflected sunlight, rumored to be the bomb doors opening.
One of many things to scare the crap out of me.
The planes are way the hell up there and we are a click or so from the target; NOT SAFE!!!
