More than half of the world's population will be overweight or obese by 2035 without significant action, according to a new report.
The World Obesity Federation's 2023 atlas predicts that 51% of the world, or more than 4 billion people, will be obese or overweight within the next 12 years.
Rates of obesity are rising particularly quickly among children and in lower income countries, the report found.

Don't they also say now the obesity is not unhealthy - it's just "fat shaming" that causes negative health consequences?
They will be eating bugs , own nothing , and be happy!
Look for that to be jettisoned (and forgotten) as soon as it becomes expedient to create a new canard.
Probably headlines something like, “Another reason why everyone likes to eat insects; they’re thinning.”
I’m blaming this obesity on climate change and using gas stoves indoors. Everyone knows you should microwave all your bugs and other foods.
Better than starvation, if you had to choose.
And ironically here in the US people are trying all kinds of tricks to “get thin”.
Pretty sure it’s the jab that’s caused this.

Yup. A steady diet of bugs will slim them all down.
It’s already 80% at my local Wal Mart.

Pure unadulterated crap. These inane prognostications are always made for the future where no one will remember and no one will have to be held accountable if nothing comes true. So what? Let everyone eat what they want, get fat and suffer the consequences. Freedom never entails perfection, perfect weight, or a perfect body—just ask Adam and Eve.
I have a good trick to get thin. It’s called eat less, and work your ass off.
Note that this is an underhanded way of saying that things are going well. Too well for the professional bien pensants, I guess.
Its better to be fat than starving. It used to be that the worrywarts were always predicting famines. And they still do go with the famine line, sometimes.
We finally ended world hunger !!
Maybe we can cut off food shipments to them all now.
