Yes, but no in the case of Trump.

Trump will be the nominee. If he were not, there are more than enough people who will NOT vote for whomever the GOPe put up so it will be another 4 years of this regardless of who the democrat nominee is.

This is the dirty little secret nobody wants to talk about.

Yes he does. Time to stop sniping at DeSantis and focus on China Joe (or is that Ukraine Joe?) and the rest of the Dem rat nest.

Unfortunately, that truth cuts both ways. There are enough RINO-types who won't vote for Trump that he will have his work cut for him if he gets the nomination.

Because Trump will likely win the nomination, it is important that the Never-Trumpers in the Republican Party need to recognize that four years of Trump is far, far better than four more years of Brandon.

I’m hearing two things:

1) Trump has a huge lead! HUGE! He’s 30 points ahead of every other Republican!
2) Trump has alienated just about everyone because he snipes at DeSantis.

Although it is conceivable that both points are somewhat true, I tend to think that only the first point is true and the second point is mostly a Talking Point for Never Trumpers who plan for vote for Biden no matter who the GOP nominee is.

President Trump has all the right enemies while Governor DeSantis has all the wrong friends.

President Trump or nothing!

There are a lot of “Never Trumpers” out there, but I think there is a higher likelihood that they hold their nose and pull the lever given the economic and security situation vs the diehard MAGA types. Trump brought a LOT of new voters into the MAGA tent.

I am worried about many things as we all should be, but I am most concerned that the GOPe powers do not put forth an independent choice because neither party can afford a fractured vote and we already have the libertarians hanging around our neck. 1% of the vote is enough to switch a few states.

It does NOT serve the interests of anyone to dive into the mud, but we should probably not put on our Sunday best. If Paul Ryan and his media friends can fracture the party it may not only cost us the White House, but it puts congress in play. Ryan and his friends want this.

Voters had no idea in 2020 how bad Brandon would mess up the good Trump economy. They wrongly assumed the low inflation, low unemployment party would continue under middle of the road (???) Brandon, and no mean tweets.

Unlike 2020, the disaster that is Brandon is now known. I have a couple of Never-Trump friends who voted for Brandon last time who have told me that they would hold their nose and vote for Trump if there is a rematch in 2024. I don't think they are alone among those who voted for Brandon in 2020 as the lesser of two evils. They now know that view is wrong which is why recent rematch polls (including the Harvard poll which is hardly a friendly polling agency) show Trump leading.

A lot of the GOPE voted for BiteMe or worked against Trump in the general election the last time. Their disloyalty has opened up a wound that has been simmering for 35 years between the trash that is the GOPE and conservatives. Rush would on occasion go there and mention that this chasm was coming at some point. I think we are at that point.

The GOPE is arrogant, disloyal, totally without honor and liberal. The only thing they are conservative about is their taxes. The GOPE/conservative relationship that started with Reagan went south under Bush41 and it’s been a textbook example of a violent domestic relationship. The GOPE abusing conservatives with endless lies and betrayals, then the winking and blinking, we’re sorry but YOU made us do that, we need you(your vote, $ and working for OUR candidates) then the election comes and the next day conservatives get curb stomped and told to “put some ice on that” by the GOPE trash.

Trump showed conservatives there was a different way and for many there is no going back to the abuse inflicted on them by the GOPE. The GOPE is solely responsible for what’s coming in 24 and I haven’t even mentioned Democrat cheating with tacit GOPE approval. The GOP is divided. The GOPE will not support Trump and MAGA and many conservatives will not support another Bush/Romney candidate. DeSantis may be the compromise but he will still lose enough MAGA/conservative votes that will cost him at the polls. At this point I would say that Trump will be the last Republican president in the United States.

Trump/DeSantis ticket. 4 years of Trump then 8 of DeSantis. I can’t think of a better way to fix this mess of a country.

DeSantis should forget the polls, never mention Trump, and keep doing what he has been doing. His accomplishments and ideas will speak for themselves.
