Criminal damaging: Beta Drive
A Florida man, 30, stopped at the Holiday Inn Feb. 26 requesting to use their electric charger for his vehicle, which needed charging while on a road trip.
He was told it was only for guests of the hotel, but he proceeded to break the lock on the charging station and began to charge his vehicle. He quickly left the area when employees went to confront him, but his plate number was obtained and led to his identification.
Theft and criminal damaging charges are pending.

Just wait until all these mandated electric vehicles cause the demand for electricity to far outstrip the supply and blackouts start and electrical rates skyrocket. Events like this will become common.
It would cost someone who had their electricity stolen very significant amounts of money. All just so someone can drive somewhere in our dystopian future. Electricity barons will be the new Rockefeller/carnegie/astor/gates/bezos monopoly men.

Yep, people who actually have virtue know that one of the most important virtues is humility, so they probably aren’t running around “signalling” about it.
I work overnights at an inn here in the frozen north.. We had a guy with a Tesla realize he was on low charge and 10 miles from the nearest charging point. He wanted to plug in to the 480 volt line thatruns our walk in coolers. When he wasn’t allowed to do that he ran a contractor cord out of his room and after about 10 hours he was able to make it to the Wal-Mart charge station and wait another hour.
I’m an EV owner (I’ve got ICE vehicles too) and your comment is hilarious to me.
That’s what I figure he was too far away from a normal charging station.
He’s one of those people who believe rules are for other people Welcome to California decal on his EV.
I live in a community full of people driving golf carts. They all act like saccharine. they are only sweet to your face, behind your back they would sell you out in a heartbeat, for 1/2 a pack of smokes.

Great story—these EV owners are getting to learn their lessons the hard way—as they should.
We have all that here in California before the onslaught of 3Vs.
I can only guess those people would act the same if they were on horseback.
