Poppy seed bagels are very tasty, but you can’t find them anymore.
My hemp gummies are still ok right? there’s no poppy seeds in them....
They’re just figuring that out now?
Stick with big booster shots of Estrogen, guys. The bagels will sink your chances of being a big, strong army man.
What about Meth Muffins?.....................
LOL. They’ve been warning troops about this since Vietnam and it hasn’t done a damn bit of good.
I read this as the military standards being lowered again, and they have to dry out too many junkies. So testing will be way more often.
Hey, we’ll send you into combat with a few vials of morphine, but no dang poppy seeds for you!
I have been hearing about poppy seeds causing negative results on drug tests for over 30 years! How is this news?
You are great to get that gif ready so quickly.
Perfect for today.
“They’re just figuring that out now?”
This has been known for a very long time, and it is primarily a reminder for younger generations.
The DoD drug testing program was calibrated in a fashion that normal ingestion of poppy seeds would not be detected but, according to the memo, there's a new strain of poppy seed that is detectible. So out of an abundance of caution and until they can figure out improved drug testing procedures, they've asked service members to abstain from poppy seed products.
Help me out here. Should the troops not eat poppy seeds because poppy seeds are actually drugs in some way... or should the troops avoid poppy seeds because a rash of false positives would have to be reported and the subsequent investigation could reveal that the drug tests used by the military are a load of expensive garbage?
I believe comment 15 answers your question.
So their solution is not to do a better test.
If someone text positive for opiates they’re going to test positive for other drugs like THC or ampetamine that are not confused with poppy seed alkaloids.
That’s been going on since at least the 90s.
