Never heard of this person before but I am disgusted by the arrogance of Alicia Messing.

The purpose of public education is not to teach only what parents want their children to be taught. It is to teach them what society needs them to be taught.’
Teaching children "what society needs them to be taught" is the job of the parents, who will use their own values and judgment to provide their children with the proper perspectives.
Meddling in this is no part of a teacher's job, and if this teacher doesn't understand that, she should find another job.

You can get a master’s degree from a diploma mill. How about South New Hampshire?
To: MAGA2017
You have a masters degree. That’s the problem!

"'What do the parents have?’ Messing asked." Common sense, perhaps?
Morals?
Things that this Messing person apparently does not possess.

What in the H.E. Double hockey sticks are these things in our schools for? It’s a no brainer- keep them out! Sue those that refuse to- There should be no question at all that those things do NOT belong in schools-

Here is the retort.
“Parents have gone to the old school..the school of hard knocks.”
“And for you Ms Master degree, you should go back and demand your money back because you have not learned a dam thing.” “You are a drag on society.”

There are plenty of “conservatives” here willing to give their children over to these public school nuts.

I have a masters from Stanford. It means jack compared to a parent’s relationship with their child.

Masters degrees in education aren’t very hard to get anymore. The standards have really been undermined in recent decades.

Maybe things were different in the past, but I’ve met very few people in my career/life with graduate degrees who demonstrated any level of competence or intelligence. The opposite is usually true.
The exceptions - some MBAs, hard sciences, engineering, law.
I used to think medicine was part of the exceptions, but Covid changed my mind about that. I’ll give them a 50/50 chance.
Advanced degrees in education, communications, sociology, psychology, etc. are huge red flags that you’re dealing with an arrogant and possibly dangerous asshat.
YMMV.
