A Pennsylvania mother has turned herself in to police after her 6-year-old son allegedly took a semi-automatic handgun from her room and brought it to school, prosecutors said.
When kids got off the bus at Gotwals Elementary School on Feb. 9, they told a secretary that a "boy had been showing other students on the bus a real gun and bullets," the Montgomery County District Attorney's Office said.
The secretary brought the 6-year-old to the office and found the gun in his backpack, and then called Norristown police, according to prosecutors.

There are several options for storing handguns. The best is a biometric safe. I personally like the drop down shelf. If junior doesn’t know about it, it’s a convenient way to store weapons up out of little hands.
Everybody knows that only revolvers can be taken to school.

Revolvers are hand guns. I prefer them over auto’s as they are less apt to jam. However they take longer to reload.

I was reading a thread where the author presented a Taurus revolver as part of his story. There was an immediate outpouring of concern over this poor individual having to lower his standards to a Taurus revolver. Perhaps a GoFundMe to get a Smith or Ruger. :-)
My wife purchased a Taurus M85 38SPL revolver. She was very impressed with the light trigger pull. She filled out the Form 4473 and paid for it. She took a box of 38SPL into the indoor range to get familiar with it. 3 out of 5 rounds failed to fire. Light hammer strikes. The FFL sent it to Taurus for repair. It came back after 5 WEEKS. The trigger pull was much heavier. It goes bang every time now. It's also unpleasant for my wife to shoot. Our rule of thumb these days is a Taurus is ready for use AFTER it goes back to the factory to fix the poor QC from the original manufacture. We mostly buy Smith, Ruger, SIG now.
My fingerprints are almost unreadable. The professional at the National Guard CAC card office took 40 minutes to get a good enough biometric read of my fingerprints to store on the card. A biometric safe would be a disaster in my house. I prefer the 5 button combinations. They are user settable and can include pairs of buttons as one of the 3 values. I can do it entirely by feel in a dark room. I'm unlikely to be surprised with a first warning from a Ring camera and a 7 dog serenade reacting to any disturbance.
There are no little hands in my home now. My youngest son is 35. No grandchildren or visitors. We still keep things locked up safely for the infrequent cases when an HVAC repair person is allowed inside.
I am sure ‘Jasmin’ taught her son all about gun safety.

Got’cha. People including journalists and TV commentators still don’t know the difference between “bring” and “take” nor I guess do prosecutors...If he had been at the school when it ended up there, fine but I doubt he was!

Re#33. There is a gun shelf that drops when you move its opening mechanism across the top of the shelf and the bottom opens. No biometrics.
